Hello all.

I was directed to this sight by a sig rep while researching my 228.

I'm wondering if members here can give me an approximate value for my pistol. I bought it in 2006. I used to shoot it a good bit but haven't shot it in years. I'd guess 800-1000 rounds through it. I had the SRT trigger installed by a sig armorer around 2014 but I have the original as well.

Please let me know your thoughts if you care to comment. Thanks for any info you can provide!

As a rule, price checks are not allowed here, but you've got enough on your plate with those huge photos, so I am going to make an exception and allow it.

Guys, please help out.

I've seen values comes down drastically recently, quite a few examples that would have been $1500 18-24 months ago are now back to reality.

If that is what you have, with no box or anything I would say around $750-$800 with all 6 mags.

And keep in mind, based of what I'm seeing on various sites and auctions, that might be 5-7% too high for a standard P228 at this time.

I love the pistol and the natural wear though.

I think Ottosig is pretty dead on with his assessment of $750-$800 current market value.

^^^ Yup. Don't expect the extra mags, holster and the SRT to add much, if anything, to the value. People generally don't want to pay for the extras they're not looking for.

Thanks Otto and guys.

Blackwater - I should've included in my original post, I picked it up lightly used from an FFL I dealt with all the time back then.

I picked up a LNIB WG P228 about a year ago for just under $1,000.

I agree with 12131. It's best to split out any magazines above two and other accessories rather than bundling them together.

Gentlemen,

Thanks to everyone that contributed and to Parabellum for the blessing.

Surely this is why Sig directed me here.

You should sell it to a shop in the Harrisburg, PA area. Then I might be able to get it.

This is probably the most tactful way anyone has ever expressed interest in a pistol outside of Classifieds in this forum.

Now, Pghterrain, you have no access to user profiles, so you can't see andronicus' email address, and your email address is not publicy displayed, so he can't see yours.

If you want, I'll put you guys together so you can talk.

I don't do this very often at all but most rules are deserving of an occasional exception, so, just let me know.

I was thinking the same thing. Nicely stated.

I would appreciate it if you'd connect us. We should at least talk a bit if not something more. Thank you.

Got my first P228 about a year ago for about €450.

Importing it was quicker than I thought and it was still cheaper than what they go for locally.

I used the extra cash to buy a 9mm barrel so I can shoot it when the 9x21 gets low.

Prices have cooled down from the "pandemic" run on weapons. Just my opinion the classic Sigs made in Germany the prices will hold and gradually increase until the next round of panic buying. Agree the P-228 and two original Sig factory P-228 mags worth $750-800 today with unusual exceptions higher and lower.

I have bought a LOT of classic SIG's in this era of now depressed gun prices, I'd say a P228 in that condition is worth $650-$850, just saw one go for $800 right in my area and I've been finding about any SIG Classic for $550 - 650 pretty often, but notably not the P228, usually P229, P220, P239's most common and not as high priced, with P225A1, P226's, P227, P228, definitely -> P224 getting higher values usually.
