I had an M&P 2.0 in .45 ACP. Didn’t like the grip and didn’t like the trigger, so I sold it and bought a police trade in G21. Should have bought the Glock in the first place. No experience with the other two you mentioned. I do have an older Sig P220. Great little handgun. Used to be my bedside gun but I replaced it with the G21 cause I just didn’t feel I could cope with the DA/SA action of the Sig if I ever had to use it in a SD situation. It’s a great range gun that I have no intentions of ever selling.

No one can tell you what will work for you. If you live somewhere you can rent the guns you are interested in, that would be the best thing you can do. I’ve rented guns I thought I wanted but changed my mind after shooting them. Good luck.

I had a 45 fetish once. I have owned 220, 245, 227, HK USP, HK 45C, HK MK23, FN, G21.

Only ones left are the USP and 45C.

As mentioned above the USP is an excellent suppressor host.

For me, the P320 is a solid choice for a polymer framed .45. I have a full size and a compact. Shoots very soft, plenty accurate and it fits my hand like a glove. I also have a Glock 21, but the grip angle and the trigger just don't do it for me. Owned an HK45 briefly--there is something in the trigger guard that makes that gun unpleasant to shoot. Make sure you handle an HK45 before you buy one.....

I totally agree with this. And the compact shoots every bit as good as the full size. I have a full size P320 next to my bed and compact near our front door. I wish Sig still supported this gun and It would be nice to see a second generation grip module produced. But other than that, that gun is a great shooter and a great choice for home defense.

Honorable mention for a metal frame is the P227. Used to have that one as my primary home defense gun, before they were replaced with the P320 45.

I'll second the Beretta PX4 very soft shooter and a great weapon. One in my rotation of EDC is a PX4 40 ACP compact, love it

I own even many, many more examples of current .45 guns than TampaSIG. Its a disease but I am getting therapy since there is not much to buy these days. Of them all the very best is the HK USP. That assuming it fits your hand as its a large gun. Second is the HK45 and third is the G21.

HK 45C with an LEM trigger.

I carry mine daily in a 5Shot Leather SME.

The recoil impulse is very soft and the sights track well. I carry it with either the standard magazine or the elephant foot 10rd magazine. its arguable one of the most reliable handguns made.

ThisXDs 45 is real nice, especially with the new 6 round magazines.

I stole (bought) this new in the box Sig 227 SAS last fall. What a great gun.

Cut down a set of the Hogue grips they made for Sig which accomodated their ill fated 14 round mags.

I don't have a cluewhat Photo Bucket is doing with these multi posts. You guys can figure it out.

The 227 is super, super accurate. The Indiana State Police carried them.

HK45 followed by the HK45C. I have the HK45C and a USPc45 and they are both excellent. You can interchange magazines between the HK45C and USPc45. You can use the 10 round magazine in both as well.
