Z06Full size ( NOT a 1911) .45 acp options
As
Kevbo mentioned you might want to consider the other German.
I have had the PPQ45 for four+ years and it has replaced my 1911 and G21 as my #1 .45 ACP. It has outstanding ergonomics and I shoot it with greater accuracy than my other .45 autos. Also the 12 + 1 capacity beats my Government. It is my nightstand gun, now with light/green laser.

cslingerHK45 or Glock 21. I lean towards the HKs.
That said I personally lean towards the HK45c/USPc. With a 10 round mag they are big enough to be a REAL gun yet can be made pretty small with an 8 rounders with a flat floor plate. They do a lot of things very well.
Here is something I wrote about the HK45c a bit back. I am even more solidified now that it is a great DO IT ALL pistol and the trigger has gotten quite a bit better.....I mean it still sucks of course buts it’s way better.

. It’s actually not that bad now.

ohioupI am quite happy with the Glock 41 but it looks like you have a lot of good options.

94hokieAnother vote for the H&K, I love my 45c.

colt_saaOf the three choices you offered, the HK45 would be my pick hands down. I would get a tactical with the threaded barrel and adjustable sights. fan
Outside of those three, a USP45 would be my choice, probably the Expert for the longer barrel, adjustable sights and better trigger. Of course 4 extra rounds in the magazine does not hurt either.
However you did say Duty Pistol
So a standard USP45f or a USP45 Tactical for use with a suppressor
And should you need More Power . . . . . the USPs can be loaded and fired with the much more powerful 45SUPER or 45SMC cartridges without the need for a spring change

YooperSigsMy vote is the 220. Tried and true. Second choice is the G21.

ArtVandelayOf your three, I would go with the HK. However, as a couple others have mentioned, I would also suggest the Walther PPQ 45. I’ve had one for a while and it’s now my only 45. Superior ergonomics and excellent accuracy. I have been on a serious PPQ binge lately, but they just feel perfect to me.

Expert308I had a P220 for a while but could never really manage the DA/SA transition, so I sold it and bought a P220SAO. That was much better, but the trigger was noticeably heavier, longer and grittier than my 1911. I've gone back to the 1911. That said, I picked up a Gen4 G21 last year and I'd agree that it is considerably softer shooting than a 1911, even with the same number of rounds in the magazine. It is a big sumbitch though, so if you have small hands you probably won't like it (although the Gen4 is easier to handle than the earlier ones).

AggieSIGSurprised nobody mentioned the CZ97 yet...mine shoots every bit as well as my p220

dc54You might consider the PX4 Storm in 45. Easy to shoot and work on.

SgtGoldIn my hands the CZ97 is the softer shooting of the two. The all steel frame and lower bore axis really help with the recoil.

tomgunI’ve got a full-size USP in .45 and a glock 21.
They’re both great, as is my g19 and USP compact 9mm, and an HK45c
So from the choices you mentioned get the HK, you won’t be sorry.

dking271I’ll be the odd guy out, and I’m a die hard HK guy. I thought the HK45 Tactical was huge my med/lg hands, so much so that I sold it at a pretty big loss. I prefer the USP in the HK 45 flavor. I’ve recently purchased a 9mm P320 and like it enough that I’d give a p320 in 45 a spin. Personally, if I’m grabbing a 45, I’m more apt to grab one of my 1911s or P220s.

sourdough44The HK-45 is a great choice, for any carry I prefer my HK-45c. Mine are both in ‘lite LEM’.

ArtieSCheck out the FN. Underrated and very good.

matt325ciI have 2 M&P 45 2.0 pistols that are both excellent. The 2.0is a big improvement over the original. I also have an HK 45 LEM which is excellent. One thing to consider is that the M&P mags are a lot cheaper and more plentiful, although the HK mags feel like they are higher quality.

dry-flyI’m going to be the odd man out and suggest the FN FNX-45 tactical. Mine is the most accurate gun I own that hasn’t been modified.

mr kablammoAlthough I have not shot one, please consider the PPQ 45. Hickok 45 was giddy about the accuracy. Numerous YT reviewers give high praise for the Walther. Do not buy the SW99 45. S&W no longer supports it.
When the Springfield Armory 45 Tactical was introduced it flew off the shelves like hotcakes. The LGS sold out every shipment, so please consider it too.
The S&W 4506 is an excellent stainless steel .45 cal.

Lord VaalicGlock 41 is a nice shooter and slightly lighter than a G21.

grumpy1From your list my vote is also the HK45, just love mine and if I could have only one 45 it would be my HK45. I tried the HK USP 45 also but much preferred the newer HK45 and shoot it better too.
