Do you think Sig will begin to cut all the XLs and Xs like the Spectre Comp?

I would expect it eventually, but there is likely a substantial inventory of slides already produced and at least some work required to retool for this cut. The rear sight integrated into the plate has always been a bad idea.

Yup. What Dan said which is why half of my 365’s don’t have the cut. It’s a goofy setup with teeny tiny screws holding it in place. I ended up getting a spare set just in case.

The standard optic cut is far back for a couple reasons - to avoid getting into the area where the roll pin for the extractor is, and to keep the optic away from powder blast from the loaded chamber peep hole. The Romeo Zero, Shield RMSc, and Holosun 407k/507k all have a rear sight notch that works fine with the standard front sight. The Spectre cut is probably fine with these optics as well, though.

Considering Sig sells the P320 X-series with the sight plate, but sells the "Pro Series" and RXP with a dovetailed rear sight and separate optic cut cover, I don't think the P365's will be unified to a the dovetailed rear sight with optic cut on the Spectre XL Comp.

The sight plate is standard on the M17/M18 and was carried over to X-Series but on real mil spec guns it is attached with a bigger single screw in the middle of the rear sight. Seems to me this is so a rear sight could be attached when there is an optic mounted, or because the two small screws were deemed "insufficient" by the Military.

In any case, losing the rear irons when mounting an optic is a big miss on Sig's part. There are various solutions available but all are have compromises of some kind.

We don't know if the 320 will remain divided or if there are just tens or hundreds of thousands of slides, cover plates, etc already in inventory. I would not be surprised to see the 320 lines shift in the future as well.

I suppose the rest of the line could change over, but the M17/M18 have to keep "the look" even if they are different where you can't see it.

It would at least make sense for them to keep the look, even if the design is a mistake. Unless, of course, the change was rolled in to new guns for the military. That seems unlikely of course.
