I finally found a P290 couple years ago and like it but it has a problem. Understand this is probably the least liked and least well-known SIG out there! One of the two magazines consistently has FTF even with Factory ball ammo. I couldn’t see any difference in the mags, so I swapped the springs, and it fixed the problem with the “bad” magazine. Now, the problem is trying to find a replacement mag spring for the defective one. I haven’t had any luck with Wolff, Fleabay or MGW. Does anyone know a source for new mag springs for the P290 .380 - or which other mag spring might work?

I didn’t even know it came in 380. Mine is a 9mm. It gets no love but it is a good gun. It’s heavy but it’s small.

I would think the 9mm mag spring would work fine.

I have a 380 and the 9mm and I agree with pedro that the 9 spring should work, worth a try anyway. I had Galloway put their trigger in my 380 and it made a world of difference for the better. I've got extra 380 mags if you ever need one.

Hi, P290 .380 uses the same 9mm mags with an insert to size it down for the .380 rounds. You may get lucky in using P238 .380 mag spring in yours.

Hi. the .380 mag spring is smaller than the 9 and will not work. I have a family of the P290

https://www.amazon.com/photos/...yNYbjyK0s6e4Nkhaa_EB

and my dual tone P290 can be configured as .380 or 9

and an ORB as my EDC

I will take you and some of your extra .380 mags, once you list capacity and price.

As for the 8 rounds 9mm mags, owners of such P290/P290RS should consider swapping the 8 rounds OEM mag spring with P239 8 rounds OEM mag spring or Wolf Spring 8 rounds mag spring.
Look at the illustration below and perform the action recommended, once your 8 rounds are loaded in the mag.
