Hello, I am trying to ensure that I have all my potential wear items backed up for my P220 in .38Super. The slide stop/ejector is one that I was wondering about. I don't know how often a slide stop/ejector goes bad, but I can't find any P220 slide stop/ejectors for a .38Super caliber. That got me wondering- would a slide stop/ejector from an old-style P225 work? It was basically a scaled down p220 in .45, if I recall accurately [or the P220 is a scaled up P225, but in .45?]. I have seen some of those off/on. Any thoughts on if it would work? Thanks Sigs and Non-Sigs: I enjoy having options!

I do not believe the P225 slide catch lever is compatible with the P220. The good news is the P220 slide catch lever (which incorporates the ejector) is not caliber specific. Top Gun Supply catalogs this part though it is currently on back-order. Numrich currently shows the item in stock though the part may be used. Being honest, in all of my years collecting/shooting the P220 in various calibers, I have never been aware of a slide stop catch failure from normal use. In my opinion, by the time you would wear one out the whole of the pistol would require a total rebuild. If you are assembling a spare parts kit, focus on springs and those small parts which are easily lost. The difficult parts to locate for your folded carbon slide .38 Super are the breech block roll pins and the internal extractor. I would direct my attention towards locating these hard-to-find items before I concerned myself with the slide catch lever. I've included some links you may find useful. If you haven't already, you may wish to familiarize yourself with Top Gun Supply. Most P220 parts are not caliber specific. Notable exceptions include breech blocks, locking inserts, recoil springs and of course barrels & magazines. Good luck! https://www.topgunsupply.com/s...atch-lever-p220.html https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/466690B

Based on my old parts numbers list, the P220 and P225 slide catch levers are not the same. “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz This life is a drill. hjs157- Thank you for your response. It was detailed enough to make me feel better, and gave some good tips. I realize it is problematic, but I had assumed that the P220 in .38Super had a slide stop/ejector that had a little longer tip for the ejector, as the .38super/9mm shell isn't as wide as the .45acp version. I didn't know they were universal. I just thought you could only find one at present- the .45. I have at least 4 sets of inner/outer breech block roll pins, and a spare internal extractor- so I hope I am fine there. Considering I rotate firearms at the range, it might take me 10 years [at current rates] to put 5000 rounds through it and have to change the breech block. sigfreund, thanks for comparing the parts list. I figured the numbers would be different, but wondered if they would be swappable, as the numbers could refer to the design of the outer lever- with one being more skeleton/framed and the other being having more metal on the side, but both might swap out. Just a thought. Sigs and Non-Sigs: I enjoy having options!

I picked up a new-in-box P220 American mag release in 9mm several years ago. From a member here I got the OEM parts to convert it to 38 Super. In those parts were several different slide catch levers. This was good since the original 9mm one would not eject the 38 Super cases. One of the others (presumably the 38 Super version) did. Interesting. If anyone is aware of multiple part numbers for the P220 slide catch lever, I am very anxious to learn this information. Thanks!
