I picked up a P320 today that was on layaway; a full size in .40. I originally thought it was used, but it appears to be a factory refurbished pistol that hasn't been used. Doesn't appear to be a mark on it, and the grip module appears untouched. The trigger is the "upgraded" adverse lightweight curved trigger, which suggests that it meets the current spec. All the P320's I've sent in have come back with the inside of the slide milled. This pistol shows no such markings and no milling. The box says May 2019, which I would think, being post-recall, means it was sent out in the upgraded configuration. There is no double-click with the trigger, also suggesting that it's upgraded. My question is whether pistols of recent release or manufacture have any milling marks or channels like the ones sent in for the upgrade have. Any recent purchasers on the P320 with a recent refurbish or manufacture date? If so, any silver showing from milling, or is additional milling being done to newer pistols?

The slide is still milled for P320's made after the upgrade, but the milling is done before the slide is finished. So there is no bare metal where the slide is milled. But to be sure just compare the slide with the one you sent back and see if there is a small pocket milled in the slide by the striker.

Every one of my P320's is different, after returning from the "upgrade." This one is different, but it's the first one I got that came with the adverse trigger and has a box date after everything was supposed to come from the factory "upgraded." It's also possible that the upper on this pistol is not what was there when upgraded, or that it's mix and match.

I just picked up a P320 carry in 40 cal in a red box. The slide was upgraded and no silver showing where it would have been milled. My red box pistol also appeared new and unfired. DPR

Forgive me if I am misunderstanding your question. All of my slides look different too, but those are just lightning cuts. But they all look the same where the "upgrade" was milled in the slide. I took a picture of 4 of my P320's side by side. All have been upgraded, 1 I sent back and 3 from the factory. I put a red circle where they milled the upgrade in the slide. Look in this section on your slide, if it has this small pocket (finished or unfinished) milled into the slide you are good to go.

Every CPO/red box P320 I’ve seen has had the upgrade done. They are excellent buys. "Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway." Steve McQueen...

Great buy; this was just under four hundred bucks. It's sitting in a TXG grip module now, and will get a Grayguns trigger, fat guide rod, and some different sights. This one cam with the factory night sights. Possibly a conversion barrel, at some point. While each of them has the same milled pocket adjacent to the striker, some have more milling that run forward to the breech face; some all the way to the breech face. The last one I had done, a subcompact, has silver metal all the way forward, and it's evident that it was milled in several passes because it's not even between the cuts. Some of the pistols when dry firing will reset with the trigger held back, with only a little rearward motion of the slide, while others must be pulled all the way back to reset. All shoot the same, however.
Thanks. I think that answers my question. Mine has the same cut. Some of the other P320's came back with additional cuts (not just the lightening holes that vary from P320 to P320), but areas milled out during the "upgrade." They each have the same pocket, however, as does the red box .40 just purchased. Thanks for the pictures. This message has been edited. Last edited by: sns3guppy,

I visited another local store today, one I really like, because they have a used counter that's always full of firearms that don't look like they've been touched, and sure enough, there was a P320F in 9mm, under four hundred, not a mark anywhere. If it was fired, it doesn't show. Night sights. Layaway. Couldn't help it. Apparently the full size P320's aren't as popular. This one hasd the same pocket as circled in red above, but finished black, just like the .40. More Grayguns parts to go in shortly, I guess. The more trigger time I get with the P320's, the more I like them.
