I just picked up this nice compact P320 9mm, made in 2022.

I will be very careful with it, but I wanted to have one just incase the issues with these P320’s are ever figured out. My plan is to take it to our outdoor range, unloaded, and use it for a range gun.

This is a really beautiful pistol and all the trauma is very sad.

I did learn one thing last night. I took the slide off and re-installed it. At that time, the magazine would not go all the way in and the trigger seemed to not be functioning. After hours of searching the web, and actually removing and replacing the FCU, I could not get it to work.

Finally, I found this post and now the gun works just fine.

I would like to hear of other positive experiences with the P320’s and how the owners are coping with all the bad news.

Mostly by ignoring the idiocy and marveling at how stupid people are when I allow myself to get sucked into seeing a video or post.

I have several P320s including Carry and Compact versions. Because I have so many, one should go off by itself any day now—sort of like Schrödinger’s cat should be dead by now—but until then I’ll continue to rely on the Carry in 357 SIG for daily wear.

I've had my 320 Carry since 2016-ish. I sent it in for the upgrade shortly after it was offered. I've EDC'd it for years with a Wilson Combat compact grip module and it's stayed loaded for about 98% of the time I've owned it. I'm super comfortable with it, shoot it better than almost all my handguns and it's been absolutely stupid reliable for me.

With all the current debate about the 320, mine has never given me any reasons not to trust it and I have no plans to stop carrying it. Simply put, I love it!

As you learned, it's imperative to lift the slide catch when reinstalling the slide, otherwise the takedown safety lever will keep the sear depressed and block the magwell and prevent the insertion of a mag. I always lock the slide to the rear with the slide catch before rotating the lever back to the assembled position and it never occurred to me that it would be done any other way, but I'm finding that it's more common than I thought.

Congrats on your purchase. I've carried a P320 every day for the past 8 years at work and so far it's only fired when I asked it to, and it's done that every time. There's not much else I could reasonably ask of a handgun. I'm not blind to the issues and am watching stuff closely, but I'm still waiting to see anybody demonstrate a gun going off without a trigger pull.

I have three so far. My only problem with these is that they are easy to customize, leading to extra parts that become another pistol.

I am learning to cope with all the fuss about the P320 by being able to get slides for $100 and finding a Sig branded P320 sight pusher at Goodwill. The grip module I could never find was on sale and I'm an FCU short of having four of 'em.

I have a half dozen or so. My wife carries the 320 Compact. I switched to a 365 for summer carry, but carry a similar 320 in the winter (with a 357 backup.) Love the guns, don't care what they say. And, as stated earlier, one should have gone off by itself by now.
