I have decided I need a 2011, I have narrowed it down to the Kimber 2K11 Pro Royal vs the Bul Armory Tac - both in 4.25”

Anyone with either or both what say Yee?

Thanks,

Archerman

I have an older Bul Armory
Excellent gun. Very accurate. I can't speak for the kimber but word is they are excellent.

In those price ranges did you eliminate Staccato?

Double check, I think Bul uses proprietary mags. The Kimber uses standard 2011 mags.

Yes the Bul uses proprietary mags. Comes with 4 of them. Toni Systems has parts for them.

I have both. Kimber 2K11 Pro (stainless), Kimber 2K11 Full Size (all black) and Bul Armory 5inch Tac. Both are great quality build.

Kimber comes with 3 magazines. Have a tool-less guide rod.

Bul comes with 4 mags. Need tiny allen wrench or paper clip for disassembly.

The color you want for the 2K11 is very nice. Our local store had one AFTER I picked up my Stainless Pro. That color is very nice.

Bul Armory 4 mags a plus, the guide rod take down is a minus, 4 optics plates are a plus.

Kimber, they have them here locally, 2 mags is OK, the tool less guide rod is a plus.

Staccato is nice but I think I would prefer one of these.

I think they all shoot pretty close to the same, I have tried the Kimber and the trigger was nice.

I bought an Atlas self restraining guide rod, won't need a tool. Have had no time to install it yet...

I installed my tool less guide rod on the Bul Tac and the one that I got bound up the slide, put the original back in no problem. It’s really not a big deal using the standard guide rod. I will contact Atlas to see if I received the wrong one.

Are you using the Bul reverse plug or one that came from Atlas?

I used the Bul, I’ll try the one that came with Atlas. The Bul had a barrel cut/support.

Can you post the Atlas Part # that you got (with the plug)? Also, what barrel length did you get? Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I ordered the 5” version with the reverse plug. I hope it works on my Bul Armory. I will also try it on the Platypus. If it works, I will order another set.
