A few weeks ago I "upgraded" to a Wilson Grip module and decided to try the tungsten weights. Unloaded, removed the slide and FCU, installed weights, reinstalled the FCU and the slide will not now slide all the way back, it hangs up solid with rear of slide at the sear in the FCU. Any ideas before taking to gunsmith.

I took another gun down, removing slide and compared and cannot really see anything out of order, the sear on the one givng the problem may be raised a little, but I am not expert enough to say that it is causing the problem.

What model? I'm guessing P320?

If so, then likely the takedown lever isn't fully inserted all the way through both sides of the grip. It has to click fully into place, and this can sometimes be stiff and require some extra force on a brand new grip module.

If that's the issue, you can try getting it to seat now, but it may be tough while reassembled. If you can't get it, you can find guides online on how to remove the rear plate on the back of the slide and take out the striker assembly, which will allow you to remove the slide off the FCU and grip, and then fully seat the takedown lever before reassembling the striker in the slide and reinstalling the slide on the FCU.

P 365 MS No problem removing the slide, my problem is that I cannot reinstall it onto the FCU. It jams stopped about 3/4" before going to normal closed position(where it would be ready to fire).
It's strange, last week when I installed the Wilsons grip module, everything went together as it should. Did everything the same as I have done several times when taking slide off to clean but tonight It jams solid.

The takedown lever is still flipped down, correct? And the firing pin block safety lever isn't sticking up and catching on the slide?

Takedown lever is down and will not rotate up. Sear is also up. A gent on another forum posted this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAwCV_RPReM
It showed that the takewdown lever bar had slipped to in front of the sear blocking things, A little fiddling got things back in proper placement and all is well.

I had installed those Wilson tungsten weights in the grip module, but they rattled, so today took the FCU out and applied a little electrical tape around the weights which stops the rattle. I had the same problem with the FCU going back into the grip module, I had to play with and reengage the takedown lever bar again. I had two other 365's to install weights in and did not have that problem, so I am beginning to think that this is a problem unique to this FCU and this Wilson grip module, If in the future it occurs again I will try going back to a factory Sig grip module and see what happens
