Buy high and sell "low" |
Cant decide on which one, definitely get one with the optics cut. I know the 92x is way heavier, and the LTT has the lighter trigger. I just put my hands on a Staccato C2, and I liked it, what experience do you have with those? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. thanks,This message has been edited. I own a bunch of 92’s including the LTT. Never shot a Performance, just handled them. Obviously 2 different guns. Heavy all steel frame safety. Yum. If I was going to compete and go cocked and locked it’s an easy choice. I don’t do that though so my vote is the LTT. Everyone who has ever shot my LTT likes it. One guy went and bought one right after I let him shoot a match with mine. It’s a great gun. With Langdons trigger work it is a phenomenal do all gun. The Performance is more niche in my mind. I’m not much of a niche guy. All that being said I have become a huge fan of the Vertec frame. I wish he made the Elite off an X frame. Personally I would get a 92X Centurion and buy the TJIAB and swap out the sights to your choice and call it a day. My 2 92X’s have become a tough choice next to my LTT’s. And I think they sell the 92X in a G version or it’s a 55 dollar kit that is easy but tiny to install. (Use a ziploc bag trust me) Edited to add: I love 92’s. They aren’t the best optics candidates. I installed a RMR on my 92X. Hated it. Way too tall. Langdon’s is lower but I still think there are better guns for optics. I took it back to irons.

I'm dealing with the same dilemma, though my neighboring thread is less focused. From my research I think it comes down to vertec or no and how much weight matters. The steel guns are 10-13oz heavier than the alloy frame guns. I kind of like that. I also think the LTT Elite 92 guns are the best looking berettas ever, the 92X performance is too damn flashy but if it shoots fantastic then it really doesn't matter. Either way don't buy the last one before I decide

Im leaning more towards the LTT due to the trigger supposedly being better, and i don't see myself doing any competition shooting. Just having fun at the range. If you get one let me know which one and how you like it. I will do my best to get the last one... Archerman

Langdon's optic system is far superior to Berettas. If you pick the Performance, I would suggest doing it as an iron sight model and having LTT put their optic system on it (which they now do for the Performance). I own both guns and if I could only have one, it would be the LTT, particularly if it had the Langdon trigger job and trigger bar.

Lol, there is no supposedly about it, the Langdon trigger is the way to go. He knows his way around the 92. They are such different guns that if you want a do all, go everywhere style gun the LTT is the better choice. I have a consecutive pair of his first 50 LTT's. No regrets. They are smooth and nice. The frame melting he did is subtle and really should be stock. I wish he did this to a 92X, it would be a winner.

I can't add anything more. I'm a big fan of any Beretta from LTT. Rom 13:4 If you do evil, be afraid. For he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

I own 20+ examples of the 92 platform including a couple LTT's and a 92X Performance. First off, the factory optics mounting is sorta bunk. Too effing high. Not every gun needs to be OR....the 92 isn't one even though they revised the slides. If you really want the best of both worlds, buy an LTT direct from LTT with their optics cut. It's as low as can be done from this platform. Now, back to the matter at hand. I was just messing around wtih my full LTT Compact Elite with LTT NP3 stuff, the 92X Performance pales in comparison. Not even close when it comes to how slick it is and trigger feel. Plus the Performance series have the dumb downward swept beavertails. I've got XXL hands and this leaves effective grip area similar to the Compact anyways even though it's a 4+ pound steel 92.

I own both and also have the extra slide with the optics cut. Overall, I prefer the X, heavier.

Left-Handed, NOT Left-Winged! |
If you get an LTT get it direct from Ernest. The Beretta marketed ones do not have the trigger job, and you will have to buy the kit and install it yourself, or send it to LTT for installation. I traded into a Beretta marketed LTT and bought the TJIAB and installed it myself and it's very good - much better than stock. Interestingly, my M9A3 (Made in Italy) trigger with factory "D" spring is almost as good. All it needed was the Langdon trigger bar to improve reset and reduce overtravel, nothing else.

Ok, Apples to oranges to plum comparison. How about the Staccato C2 compared to the Beretta's? Archerman

For real? |
I have two 92s. An old 92FS and a Brig with the G lever. Both have D springs and LTT’s optimized trigger bar. I love shooting both. I had a Staccato P in 2019 and C2 in 2020. Got rid of both because I never shot them. In January, I bought a C2 Duo with a threaded barrel because I planned on making it my dedicated 9mm suppressed handgun but that role fell to my Glock 45. In the past few months, I have shot the Berettas more than the C2. The C2 grip just doesn’t fit my hand. I ordered an XC to try the other day. Maybe I will like it. I’m probably biased because I have been shooting a 92 for the past 30+ years. None of these are carry guns for me. Just plinkers. My primary carry guns are the Glock 43X or 45. Not minority enough!

I swear I had something for this |
Or get the 92X Performance and send it to LTT for the optic cut AND a trigger job which should make it the best of the best.

Would you include the optional safety? No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Just mobilize it |
The Staccato is a great gun and the C2 is a nice “can do it all” choice in their line up. I shoot mine very well due to its sub-4# factory trigger. The fit and feel of the Staccato is great as well as are most 2011’s. They just sit well in your hand and point well. Now I will say the grip could be improved with a slight reduction and more aggressive stipple, perhaps I’ll do that sometime. As far as the LTT, I really want a LTT Centurion and have heard nothing negative about them. I think the stock 92’s even back from the 90’s and 2000’s are great pistols and the LTT is quite a step above, probably the best offering/version of the 92 available. Just comes down to which one you like the feel of more, how does each one shoot in YOUR hands, and if you prefer a DA/SA trigger or a SA 1911/2011 style trigger.

You can get your 92X Performance "Langdonizd" and you'll have an even better trigger than the standard 92G LTT. They will also now do their patented optics cut on the 92X Performance (provided it isn't the Beretta factory RDO version) That would be the way I'd go - get the non-optics cut 92X Performance and have LTT do the work on it. I may send my 92X Performance slide to them to have the optics cut done. It already has their trigger job and it's hands down better than any of the 92G LTTs I own, all of which have had trigger work done by Langdon.

I just found a Stacattoc C2 2022 limited that comes with a second barrel, still deciding on that, or the Beretta ltt? And I have never shot either and I need a new toy! Archerman

Pedropcola hit the nail on the head. The Langdon optics cut is the way to go and a 92X Centurion with the LTT TJITB gives you a fantastic pistol at a great price.

Another vote for the LTT. It's the 92 I never knew that I needed. As an aside, can anyone suggest a decent holster for the 4.7 barreled model?

What is the second barrel? I'm assuming just a threaded one or something like that. I have found that every gun I have bought a threaded barrel for I have just used it (the threaded barrel) and never bothered with the stock one. I don't know that I would pay extra (especially what is probably the cost of a fitted 2011 barrel) for such limited utility.
