Has anyone tried one of these in a Ransom Rest? Just wondering if it's still under 2" at 50 yds.

Hi Jon, welcome to the board. Try the search option, it is your friend. There have been many discussions on the P210A, including some on a Ranson rest. As I recall, Ranson doesn’t have a mount available yet. The grips of all three versions (Swiss, German, and US) are different.

Here's a head start since the search function isn't always helpful.

The search function does have its quirks, such as bringing up pages with no hits, but it often works. I do wish that it had an option to limit searches to the thread that you’re currently positioned in.

jonholl,

I will be attempting to shoot my P210A from my ransom rest sometime soon. I bought the grip inserts and it looks like the P210A might work with them. I had to rework the mounting system, but I think it will work with our new shooting benches. I'm waiting for a decent day to go to the range. Today, it snowed - hopefully there will be good weather in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the feedback, looking forward to your results browndog.
Interested in the P210A but need to handle one 1st, I've got short fingers. I don't believe there are any aftermarket grips yet if the target grip doesn't suit my hand.

Jon, go for it. I too have small hands & short fingers. I don’t have issues shooting it. I wold like to get some less palm swell grips when/if they become available. You won’t be disappointed.

I like mine but I also have small hands. I have to make a lot of adjustments to shoot it well. Looking forward to slimmer grips coming along...

I contacted Grips4U and they have a P210A and are thinking about making grips. I would recommend that anyone else interested in grips reach out to them as they are taking the temperature of the market as they weigh a production decision.

Sounded like a good idea. I sent them an email last night and got a response today. They are considering grips for the P210A.

Got to handle one Saturday at a gun show. The action was cable tied so I could not get an impression of how it functioned. It appeared to be well made, nicely finished and I liked the adjustable target sights. The target grips felt good, but with my stubby fingers I could not achieve proper finger pad position on the trigger. I will have to wait until replacement grips are available before adding one to the stable. In the meantime my Swiss-made P210s will keep me happy.

Enjoying mine but I too need slimmer grips. Mine is shooting better and more reliably as it breaks in.

He complained about reset failures. A P210A owner had a thread here in “Sig Pistols” with the same complaint, but later found that the problem was the result of the P210’s longish reset – he wasn’t allowing the trigger to return forward enough for reset to occur. A characteristic that you just have to accommodate. Others noted that the long reset is common to all P210s, not just the P210A.
