Anyone have one ?? Just when i thought i was all set my FFL gets a bunch of new Gen 3 and 4 G33's in. My dealer here is very big, usually has a ton of everything, but the Covid run on guns combined with the distributor and/or manufacturer shutdowns
have his cases pretty empty.
Apparently, in an effort to get something back in the cases he is bringing in anything and everything that the distributors have available. The .357 SIG is a great round IMO, but not very popular during normal times so i think the distributors probablky had a oile sitting around.
I am really thinking about grabbing a G33. Anyone shoot one ?? Not sure what i will do with it just thought it might be fun to really throw some flame every now and again at the range. I know i could certainly carry it as well.
Anby thoughts would be appreciated.

I haven't a G33, but I do have a Gen2 model 22 that runs on 357 Sig by way of a conversion barrel or a carbine kit. Yeah, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Mags are plentiful and ammo should be somewhat easy to come across.

I have one. My normal carry is a Glock 32, so the G33 complements that. I have the G31, G32, and G33.

If you've shot a G26 and G27 side by side, you may have noticed a marked difference in recoil and controllability; more so with the G33. The more you shoot it, the more it "goes away."

I found that a conversion barrel made it a lot less expensive to shoot. .357 Sig is expensive to shoot and not always easy to find. A 9mm conversion barrel will let you shoot the pistol a lot; a .40 barrel will let you shoot with recoil similar to .357 Sig, at less cost and greater availability. Just grab the appropriate magazines, recoil assemblies, and barrels, and you've got a versatile pistol.

For carry, I'd prefer a G32 or G31 for a more grip and barrel; the G32 is that compromise for me.

Like a .357 magnum, the shorter the barrel, the more the blast and the more is burning beyond the barrel, rather than expanding and pushing the bullet faster. With the G33, you're aware you've pressed the trigger.

I had one. Great little gun. They call it the pocket rocket for a reason. Hold on tight! But, like one said in this post. The more you shoot it the more that issue goes away.

If it is ok to ask. What is the name of the dealer? Interested in a Gen3 33.

I used to have one. I sold it to a coworker for $200 so she'd have an off duty gun.

I'm hoping they release the gen5 in 357 so I'll pick up twin 32s. The 33s were always too small for me.

You can get a 27 (or 23) barrel and shoot .40 out the the 33 or a conversion barrel to shoot 9mm. It's a versatile gun.

The G33 is a great little gun. I find the recoil about the same as a G27. As others mentioned, just drop a .40 barrel in it, and you can shoot a bit cheaper. In my experience, you don't even need to buy .40 magazines. The G33 magazines work fine for .40, at least I never had a problem with using them for .40. It was just for the range anyway. If I was going to carry .40, I'd buy the .40 mags since the followers are slightly different.

I'd be concerned with shooting that round in a smaller lighter pistol... but some folks can handle it. The one review I watched the guy had feed problems with hollow points in his.

Edit 7/19: I have to say (yes it was just one review) but the pistol jamming on Sig hydro shocks concerned me... I thought one of the benefits of 357 Sig rounds was because of the necked down cartridge they was supposed to be practically no chance of a feed problem? I know for a fact I've never had a problem with the 3 Sig pistols I have in that caliber. Maybe he was 'limp wristing" ?

had one, loved it for an ankle rig. It shot very well, I had no issues with recoil, but I have gorilla hands. Forget why I let it go...I think I will have to rectify that.

I have a Gen 4 27 with a 357 sig barrel, Gen 4 32 and a Gen 4 35 with a 357 sig barrel. I have also built a compact P80 357 sig (by far my favorite hand gun).

I love the round. I switched all my 40sw guns over to it. I already reload 9mm so I use the same bullets for 357 sig.

I think you lose a lot of velocity on the subcompact guns. But the G27 is perfect for ankle carry. And I wear the 32 IWB. I like how you can use the G32 mags in the G27.

I use Underwood ammo for my defense ammo. The 124 grain gold dot bullet does a little over 1,500 fps out of my G32

I can't wait for the Gen 5!!!

Had a G32 and sold it and regret it. It was a great shooter. Not sure about the smaller 33, but if you don't mind a little recoil you will probably love it

I carry a gen 3 33 almost everyday. Fantastic shooter with minimal recoil for 357. Ammo is a little more expensive but about the same as 45. Looking for a Gen 4.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol Troopers are issued both the Glock 31 Gen4 and Glock 33 Gen4 357 Sigs.

I had a Glock 31, 32, and 33 at one time. I still have the G32. I regret selling the 31 and 33. The G33 wasn't too bad recoil wise. Great gun.

I found an 31 for low $300s a few months ago on Gbroker. Buy A 31, 32, 33. They each have their own advantages.

I have a 32 which is the g 19 size and really like it I reload so the cost of ammo means nothing, I can load it almost as cheap as 9 mm. it packs a nice punch. the 33 along with the 26 and that short grip doesn't work for me. neither did a sig 245.

Ok I bought 2, gen 3 and gen 4. Hoffman's gun center Newington CT. Fired the gen 3 and it was great, accurate and powerful. Very stout recoil, but not at all unpleasant. It's very controllable. Will fire the gen 4 this weekend.
Has anyone shot one of these out ? Broke it ? I ask because this is the first Glock i feel like I could break it if I shot it enough just because the round is really stout.
Just curious. I read the G26 thread and somebody said they cracked the frame albeit after 10's of thousands of rounds but I guess if it happens to a G26, then it's certainly more likely on this little powerhouse

I shot mine side by side with my 26 and 27.

26 was softest, then the 33, then the 27. It’s a great little package. You won’t be disappointed.

Though Glock refused to call it a "recall," there was a recall on certain of the G33's because there were a few that experienced cracked rails, with a frame problem. Mine fell within the serial range. I sent it to Glock; they gave me an option of the original serial number with an X in front (to designate the chagne), or a new number; the new number was a US made frame with a faster turnaround, or the x-number on an Austrian frame with a longer turnaround.

I opted for the Austrian frame with the x-number and took the longer turn time, and still got it back in a few weeks.

The recoil in the .357 Sig isn't that great. It's noisy and it's fast, but it's a lighter bullet.

I would think that a pistol firing .357 Sig might not last as long as a pistol firing 9X19mm. I wouldn't worry a lot about it, though. Get one, train with it, shoot it, and if it eventually breaks, get another. Or get two and shoot one until it breaks, see how long it takes. If you're paying for the ammunition, I expect you probably won't see the failure point.

We had a high round count gen3 31. I replaced his RSA twice and his locking block pin once (it broke in the middle). He shot at least 500 rounds a month for years. I'm old and lazy now, I'm only shooting 200 rounds a month in my gen4 31. I haven't replaced my RSA yet. We were issued the gen4 on 1/1/19.
