sigfreundIf it’s old style DAO and not DAK, a DA/SA hammer and decocker assembly (lever, bearing, and spring) are required. There have been a few grip plates designed for DAO only, but they’re rare.

sigfreundThe DAK hammer is distinctive in being rounded rather than having a spur. There is a “bobbed” DAO hammer, but it is very uncommon and if yours has a spur it must be the old style DAO.
Left to right:
DA/SA, standard; DA/SA, “sport”; DAO, standard; DAO, “bobbed”; DAK
Added to the above: The usual distinctive feature of double action only Classic line SIG pistols is that they don’t have decocking levers. It’s not impossible, though, that someone might have removed the decocker from a DA/SA pistol for some (unfathomable) reason. If there is any question, try to cock the hammer. If it doesn’t stay cocked, then it’s an old style DAO. If it remains cocked, then it’s DA/SA with no decocker.

sigfreundYou’re welcome, and in case anyone wonders what the difference between the standard and sport DA/SA hammer is, look at the rectangular single action cocking notch at the bottom front. It may be a little hard to make out, but the sport notch is narrower for less engagement with the sear and not as much creep before letoff.

Yeah, it looks like half the size!
