Advice please..Colt Trooper MK III...update on issue
Hi, all. Got a question for the forum experts. We bought a beautiful used Colt Trooper, MK III revolver a year ago, condition is very good.

Only issue is, when we took it out, it shot to the left. Adjusted the rear sight to bring it back, and while that solved the problem, it’s a bit irritating to us to see the rear sight canted that far to the right to make it shoot straight.

It’s not us, as we have another Trooper, in similar great condition and those sights are set even and it is right on the money.
Is there any possible fix on a revolver for this? Have been considering sending to a gunsmith, or Colt, but don’t want to have it messed up if there is nothing to be done to correct it. Not sure if Colt does have a good rep anymore for fixing their revolvers.
Thanks!
Also, if this isn’t the right place to ask, let me know. Wasn’t sure if this was correct forum or the sig armorer forum.
See last post....called Cylinder and Slide

The only things I can come up with is a canted front sight. Which should be easy to see. Or the rear sight is mounted off center.

End of Earth: 2 Miles
Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

You can try validating windage with a laser boresight.

Rear sight is mounted evenly. Front sight is not canted. And, when the rear was adjusted to the right to correct the left shooting, it shoots right on target now. Trigger is smooth, every thing else is nice about this revolver. It’s just when you inspect that rear sight you can see it is adjusted clear to the right. Only found out when taking it to the range, as we inspected it before we bought it, and everything tight, even, etc.

Got a tip to call Cylinder and Slide. Spoke to a rep there and he said it’s a common issue, he’s seen it before. Could be a barrel ‘clocking’ issue. Or a couple other issues they have seen. Only bad thing is they are backlogged 16 months. Good thing is I can put a deposit down, and keep my place in line, and hang on to the revolver u til they can get it in. I will be calling them back Monday.
