Freq GeekWho has a .460 S&W Taurus Raging Hunter?
Who here has a Taurus Raging Hunter in .460 S&W or .454 Casull?
I am going to buy a big bore revolver soon. I like the S&W revolvers, but they're much more expensive compared to Taurus. The picatinny rail will be helpful for a scope when I hunt hogs. The S&W is still an option, but the standard versions (non-Performance Center) are difficult to mount scopes.

armoredI have the Performance Center S&W 460.
With the generated pressure of that cartridge I would feel UN-comfortable shooting a revolver that did not have S&W engraved on the pistol.

.38supersigConsider shopping for a Magnum Research BFR as well.
It is capable of chambering both the .460 and .454 (plus a 45 Long Colt if you are inclined to do so).
I was able to find a detachable brake that needs no mods to the barrel.

I'd probably be ok with a Ruger or Magnum Research as stated above, but with my history with Taurus revolvers and timing problems, I don't think I'd want to shoot that...and I'll shoot just about anything. The .460 is a monster, and I'd have to be very confident in the construction of the handgun to feel comfortable pulling the trigger on one.

.38supersig^^^ Yeah,
If you are unfamiliar with the .460 S&W, consider pulling the trigger of your .44 Magnum and being able to handle three of 'em going off at the same time.
By comparison, a 50AE is only about two of 'em. The 500 S&W is maybe a bit more, but the .460 seems to be more fun.
Let us know what you ultimately decide.
