...though I had a bad experience with Kingsfirearmsonline.com last time, it was a 180 this time. I gave them another chance, mainly because my favorite polymer handgun was on sale for $399, a police-trade in, good condition.

It looked like it had been stored for a while as it had dust, cob webs and human smegma on the grip. She cleaned up nicely though. Came with three mags, all state Law Enforcement only and they needed some cleaning too. I don't think the gun was ever cleaned after its last shooting either.

Anyway, it looks good, the trigger is exactly the way I like it, a light LEM. Here it is below and next to my USP 9 V7 that I purchased brand new a few years ago. Hmmm, $1100 vs $400....being an HK USP, I'm very good with that price Smile

Looks good. The USP 40 is the only 40 caliber handgun I would own by choice.

I am looking for a good condition USP 9. I just ordered a few extra replacement parts yesterday. I just received the armorer's course DVD and booklet. For having 3 USP's one with 50k you would have thought I would have done this sooner.

All mine are V1. I like them like that. Just out of curiosity, does the match trigger imprve the DA pull weight at all?

They are a big and blocky kind of gun but man do they shoot nice. I had a USP 9mm years ago and was amazed at how accurate I shot it. I bought it used for a song and dance and traded it off, stupidly. That was one of the few pistols I regret trading.

I'm thinking the V7 is a true DAO, not LEM. But I'm not an expert on the subject.

Then again... looked this up on the HK website...

Part No. M704007‐A5, UPC 642230247338 – USP40 (V7) LEM DAO, two 13rd magazines – MSRP $1,049

Does your's pre-cock the hammer?

Yes, pre-cocks it but you have that double strike capability. I would imagine a DAO trigger has the same pull every time while the LEM does not. Yeah, the HK website lists LEM DAO for every LEM model.

Thanks for the info. I'm tempted to buy one of these as a primary .40 shooter. All of my .40's are getting to be hard on my wrist and shoulder. Wondering if the HK recoil reduction system and the bigger gun would be softer shooting than my 226's.

It is still a snappy shot, I think the expert/tactical in 40 with a comp would be your best bet for recoil reduction. Maybe a USP with a full light laser combo. However, it is the best 40 I have ever fired.

Thanks for the info. From what I'm reading, the gun is not as soft shooting as one would think from looking at it. It really is light weight compared to its looks.

My first experience with Kings was atrocious but I think I will give them a second chance as well. I did talk to two different people there and they explained the issue to me and were very apologetic.
Nice USP by the way. I have a USP compact .45 V7 and it is my EDC.

It is hard to quantify recoil. Rent one, try it out.

One of the true pistols built exactly for the 40. P229 too, of course.

Same here, first experince was awful. The price was so good on this gun though, had to try again. A good experience this time.
