Picked up a cheap frame off funbroker and I think I want to go after the SAO parts vs the regular DA/SA. Already have a complete upper I’ve been swapping back and forth on my 40 lower.
Are there any parts that are going to be unobtanium?
Is there such a thing as a complete lower parts kit like an AR? Pins, springs... the whole 9 yards

To my understanding there are different frames used for the SAO P226's. It is not as simple as swapping parts.

The frame needs to be machined for both DA/SA and SAO. I know this from converting a couple of stainless P220’s to SAO.
In the case of the 220, Sig Germany manufactured a run of frames that were machined for both making a conversion a simple parts swap.
I wanted to do the same with a stainless 226, but, couldn’t find any info as to whether SIG manufactured frames for both or if it was even possible for one to have been machined for both.
It may be more cost effective to pick up a SAO in .22LR and swap the top end.
There’s also a seller on GB who has new, complete frame assemblies available. Doesn’t have any 226 SAOs currently listed, however, you may want to periodically check him out. This message has been edited. Last edited by: mcs1564,

Probably the safety parts. I have never seen them listed for sale.

I have a SAO only 220 frame that will accept DAK conversion only. No complete DA/SA kit will work on the frame. I think its missing a hole for the bearing plate..???? IIRC.

I looked into this awhile ago. Not a chance to find the necessary parts. That was my experience. FWIW>
