Money won is sweeter than money earned |
I am in the market for a AR-15 pistol. Any thoughts on the Springfield Saint Pistol? _________________________ Einstein defines insanity as "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

I like Springfield’s especially their 1911’s...I believe they typically offer good value for the money. You are gonna get lots of people replying about how they won’t do business with them because they hate America or whatever. I don’t know about about the Saint pistol in particular but I wouldn’t have any compunction about buying a Springfield product in terms of quality. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

Thanks for the reply. I knew when I posted I would probably get more "Hate Springfield" replies than useful replies. Just hoping I get a few replies to people who own one or have shot one. I agree, I think Springfield makes a nice gun for the money. _________________________ Einstein defines insanity as "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

Peace through superior firepower |
You're not going to have a problem with those kinds of replies, and Dusty, you really didn't need to mention it at all. You introduced the subject into this thread. That is the opposite of what you want to do. Rick, I don't think much of SA, Inc's quality control. I'd keep looking.

There's so many AR pistols out there. I don't think there's any reason to buy a SAI badged one over a more reasonably priced one. Or just buy a PSA kit for like $400 and slap it together yourself. ------------------------------------------------ Charter member of the vast, right-wing conspiracy

I've nothing to back it up but speculation but I think the Saint is likely BCM from the ground up.

Yeah, I don't know about that - I mean there is certainly collaboration, but a Saint comes in a good bit under what BCM charges for complete ARs. Or maybe they have some budget items outsourced to make up the difference?

Thanks Para! I really value your opinion. _________________________ Einstein defines insanity as "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

I feel you could assemble one from a parts kit and have more or less the same quality for cheaper.

To all of you who are serving or have served our country, Thank You |
I'm not so sure about that statement. The BCM AR pistols in 5.56 use a 11 or 11.5" Chrome Lined 11595E Certified Steel barrel. The Saint pistol in 5.56 uses a 7.5" 416R Stainless Steel Melonite barrel. https://www.springfield-armory...t-ar-15-pistol-5-56/ http://shop.bravocompanymfg.co...m-pistol-610-890.htm

I own one. Bought it on black friday 2017 on a killer sale for $765. I've added a Vortex SPARC II optic, magpul backup sights and a single point sling. I've got it sighted in at 50yards and it shoots very well. The dissapator or whatever they call it does a good job of pushing the noise away from you as it is a hair quieter than other AR pistols that I've shot. You can build one for less but I'm happy with the fit and finish. I also believe they are built by BCM as the parts are very very similar..... Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six
