Dwill104Saw this at my LGS yesterday for $400, and couldn’t pass it up. Came with two factory mags.

OaklaneI wouldn’t have let that go for 400 either, I’d have been suck in if it was under 500 actually

longjohnMan they made some really nice pistols. If they could bring just one line up back, I would hope it would be the 3913 series

I recently obtained a 4566 I had been looking for years for a roll mark stamped and stainless steel hammer and trigger.Magazines are pricy tho if you find one in your travels buy it.

KevHThe first pistol I was ever "issued" was a well used, but perfectly serviceable early 1990's S&W 5906 with adjustable sights wearing a set of too-thick Hogue grips.
Like most baby police in that era, all I wanted was the new hotness, a Glock 22 in 40 S&W, or to carry a 1911. I thought the 5906 was an uncool boat anchor. I couldn't turn it back in fast enough.
Fast forward twenty-five years and I now appreciate how truly wonderful the 3rd Gen Smiths truly were. Buttery smooth double-action, crisp single action, with a super short reset. That boat-anchor weight helps absorb recoil and makes a long range day practically easy (especially when you dehorn a couple sharp edges with an India stone).
I picked up a very lightly used very late production 5906 and an unissued 6906 that my department was surplussing out a few years ago. I'm on the hunt for a 3913 and 4506-1 or 4566 to round it out.
I truly wish that S&W would reintroduce these with a couple slight updates.
