P365 Magazine Issue...

bronicabillP365 Magazine Issue...
Let me begin by stating that I have NOT been able to visit a local range for test firing, so I am currently working under less than stellar conditions!
Situation: I have a basic P-365 with manual safety, and bought three 12-round mags to go with it. With one in the pipe, plus a full magazine, it is very difficult to rack the slide to eject the current round and replace if with one from the magazine!
However, if I download by one (11+1), then everything seems normal.
Is this something that will go away with time and use, or do all P365s experience this “issue”?
Thanks in advance!

sigfreundI initially downloaded my P365 magazines for carry because of how tight the rounds were when fully loaded. The MagGuts internals fixed that, though.

cslingerSome mags, more so with subcompact stuff, exert a lot of upward pressure on the top round/round that interacts with the slide.
Even IF this causes an actual firing issue just leave the mags loaded and they will 99% of the time settle in and be fine. MOST of the time even if it “feels” like an issue will occur it won’t due to the velocity of the slide in actual use.

straightshooter1I've had a couple[three 365s in various configurations and all did the same thing. Trip to the range, then left the mags fully loaded a few days and all was perfect.

Is this common practice? I either insert a magazine in an empty gun or unload the chambered round and then load a magazine.

I don't know about you, but I call it normal use.
Load magazine to capacity, insert magazine, chamber round, remove magazine, top off magazine with 1 round, insert in pistol, holster pistol, "carry" on... Pistol is ready to fire when drawn...

Il CattivoI think he may be worried about having the pistol cycle when he fires it if he starts with a loaded chamber and fully-loaded magazine.

I'm sure that's his concern, but as 12131 said, "go shoot it".

Exactly! There is so much resistance racking the slide with a full mag and one in the pipe that I was concerned it may not cycle properly on the first shot. Still haven't gotten to the range to test fire it yet, and that is one thing I wanted to check out. Hopefully tomorrow I can go!
