Yes.

The difference between the original style DAO hammer and a DA/SA hammer is the absence of the single action cocking notch in the former that keeps the hammer cocked after the first DA pull. Everything else about the mechanism is the same, except of course, the presence/absence of the decocker.

Thank you for the answer. I don’t know if removing the SA function would have any effect on the DAO pull weight.

Like you, I prefer the DAK system. It’s easier for me to shoot than something like the HK LEM.

For anyone interested, hammers.

I should redo this series, but if it isn’t clear due to the shadow, the difference between the conventional DA/SA hammer and the “sport” version is that the single action cocking notch of the sport is narrower.

Nope, not those. I no longer own the gun, but did keep pics of the grips, and will try to find them and post here. I was told on the forum they were very unusual and someone tried to buy them from me. IIRC they were identical to DA/SA grips in every way except no cutout on inside of left panel for decocker.

As you can see, the upper left of left grip panel is not cutout on INSIDE for decocking lever. The panel just fits flush against the frame. This is what I had a difficult time convincing folks of before when we discussed this DAO P228. The cutout does still apear on the outside, which is what was throwing people off.

I like DAO Sigs too. The DAK was fine to shoot but dry firing required racking the slide partially to get the full DAK effect. The P250 has a nice DAO, always thought it was under appreciated.

Welp..I finally got got all my parts installed. GG SRT, GG hammer strut, Armory Craft master trigger, XS sights, Hogue reverse checked grips, and of course everything to make it Da/Sa. Interesting that the original grip panels don't accommodate the new style hammer strut.

Thanks for the pictures. I meant to respond to your post and pictures earlier, but got distracted.

Your grip plates are similar to the DAO plates I have, but obviously not the same. That's interesting because it only adds to the mystery of why they were made to superficially resemble standard plates for use with the decocker, but don't permit that.

I agree. They could have just used the standard DA/SA grips. What they actually did seems to have been a half way measure.
