If you didn't already know everything about recoil springs..
Prob half or more of you guys already know everything about sizing semi-auto recoil springs. But I didn't. This CGW link is probably 100 years old, but I found it helpful, esp. the relationship (lack of) between the hammer and recoil spring:

Interesting read, but it seems to be all about CZ's. I get that that's their specialty, but would the same 'rules' apply to a 1911, or a Glock, or a <whatever>?

That goes against the conventional wisdom for 1911s, people, even gunsmiths, tinker with mainspring (and firing pin stop) along with the recoil spring.

Sure, that doesn't surprise me, but that basic information was helpful for me. It may or may not apply only to TDA semis, I don't know.
