BHP Armorer- Who's a good one?
Long story short- I have a beater FN BHP. Not a T or C Series, but it works. One of these days when I retire, I'm looking at using my BHP in my EDC rotation. So this one is gonna need a little work.
I'm looking at new sights, a trigger job, Magazine Disconnect, a new barrel at a minimum.
Maybe polishing up the trigger, a mag well.

As far as re-crowning a new barrel, is it needed?
If I toss in a new barrell (and I'm assuming springs) can I bang away with +P / +P+ rounds?

I know the Main Guys when it comes to BHP's:
Novak in West Virginia
Yost in Ohio
Cylinder & Slide in Nebraska

Is there anyone else?

When I was researching HP's ,this company came up as an authority (I bought my HP pin punch tool set from them); maybe reach out to them regarding your gun

Surprised no ones thrown out Cylinder and Slide, had them do some work on an Argentine FM years ago and was happy with their work, just had them replace the sights and safety and do an action job and it was 100%

I thought they had closed up shop a few years ago. Apparently not.

It sounds like you'd be further ahead selling the FN and buying a Springfield SA-35. It has most of what you want already, is +P rated, and Apex makes drop in parts for the other stuff like trigger job and mag well. I see new SA's online for under $650.

Before getting rid of the FN Hi-Power, I would recommend talking to people that work on them - all makes and models of Hi-Power (FEG, Arco, Girsan, SA, etc.) - then make that call. I personally won't part with my Browning MKIII but have added to the category with an Inglis (the Turkish one, not the desirable Canadian made model).

I thought about it.
I’ll probably pick up an SA-35 for fun, possibly an Inglis, I’m really liking the case harden one, and it’s about 1/4 the price of sending something to Turnbull! Wink

I just would like something custom to my taste.

Wilson Combat or Nighthawk

For ME:
DA/SA=Sig 9mm or HK P30 LEM 9
Striker fired= Glock 9mm
If it's a .45= 1911
Suppressed= HK in .45
I like anything in 10mm
