I for one am starting to think your whole "you will buy a Glock" spell/sorcery has gone a little too far. Maybe cut back on the goat sacrifices or virgins blood or something. Big Grin

Well, I will probably try out the Ruger clone. And the Rost Martin interests me too. My Stoeger clone is as cheap as I want to go!

I think I'll stick to my 19 and 42 for now.

The Glock is beginning to achieve the same status as the 1911 and the Peacemaker, with so many companies making copies. That's quite an achievement.

The thing I now hope is because of all the clones, Glock innovates and cleans up a few things it could do better. Like doing away with the MOS plate system in favor of a direct mount system.

Yup. The Gen 3 Glock is the 1911 of the 2000's.

And honestly, I'm not a Glock guy. Well at least I wasn't when I started shooting. I was Sig guy.

Now, I keep a G17 G5 in the bedroom. A G17 G3 in the living room. A G17 G2 in the garage. Same ammo, same mags, same manual of arms.

One stop shopping.

And how might one do that given the diversity of mounting patterns in red dots. You simply cannot have trijicon lugs and aimpoint acro clamp system in the same place. its not possible.

I'm right w/ you. Cool

I started out as someone who didn't want to like Glock. I'll always have a soft spot for my P-legacy guns, but over the years, I've shot all the major polymer-frame strikers and a lot of the lesser known ones too. Now I'm knee-deep in Glocks. In fact, I picked up another today.

As another member put it, "Everyone wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock in the streets."

You don't have to, nor should you be expected to provide a mounting system compatible w/ everything. The Echelon and Shadow Systems have superior mounting systems that cover the major players. Currently that's: RMR, Doctor/Noblex, DPP, & RMSc. As far as I can tell, Aimpoint Acro is still a minor player in handgun RDS.

I would argue this is absolutely true. There are guns that even non gun folks know or have defined a generation. The “peacemaker”, the “Colt .45”, and “The Glock” all meet this criteria. They are not the only iconic pistols ever made but certainly some of the biggest and well known across a wide spectrum of people.

Like others have said above. I’m not really a “Glock guy” as I still prefer DA/SA type guns but I own them, have carried them, trust them and have even been carrying a Glock 48 quite a lot as of late.
