Looking for expert advice from experienced members. I purchased a CA P229R in 9mm, with an LCI on the slide. I want to change out the slide with a legacy slide in 9mm. What parts are needed to make this work? Can I use the same barrel and guide rod in the Legacy slide? Do I need to change out the slide lock block? Thanks in advance.

Need:
1- Legacy slide,
2- the barrel for the Legacy slide, which is the same one in the P228 (not the 229-1 barrel), and
3- the locking insert of the Legacy P229(9), which is the same one in the P228.
rjam, I have actually bought and tried both parts mentioned ^^^ above. 1202381-R 34280317-R
Personally I found the Ebay 34280317-R to be the "real deal". I have numerous buys from that ebay seller. Try the "Make an offer" for let's say $50.
Good luck...

I bought a CA 229R last year with the intent of ditching all the CA nonsense. I put the slide and barrel on eBay about ten minutes after getting the gun home from the ten day wait and got $350.00 for the combo.
I bought a Legion optics cut slide from Sig, along with a 229-1 barrel and a regular locking block w/out the MDS. The slide came with suppressor height X-Ray sights which I didn’t need since I planned on trying a Romeo X Pro RDS which co-witnesses with standard height sights, so I also bought a set of standard height X-Rays.
The whole thing came out great, albeit it is a two-tone gun. I also added a GrayGuns intermediate trigger and it shoots great. As a bonus I replaced the E2 grips with a set of Hogue checkered G-10’s.
My astigmatism doesn’t give me a sharp dot on the Romeo X so I’m thinking about ditching it and just using the irons. It might be an old dog, new trick type of thing and I have to keep reminding myself to focus on the target, not the dot. I’m going to give it a couple more sessions and see.
Good luck with your project.

It appears you and I purchased the same firearm, and I have already started to de-California the Sig. I've purchased a new Legacy slide with x-ray sights, a 229(9) barrel, and the correct lock block. Once I get it together I will post a couple of pics. I also wanted to thank members Q and lot_45 for their advice and suggestions.

Q has deep knowledge on these old (but best ever) Sigs. Many thanks for popping in when help is needed.
