Believe, but do not know what generation my Glock 26 is. Is there a site to run the numerical markings on the unit to confirm what generation it is?

I'm not a Glock expert, but I believe if it's a gen 4 or 5 it'll say on the slide. Gen 3 won't say gen 4 on it, but it'll have finger grooves with checkering in them. Gen 2.5 has smooth finger grooves.

If you post up a pic someone could tell you right away.

If it says "26" on the slide, it's a Gen 3.

If it says "26 Gen 4" on the slide, it's a Gen 4.

If it says "26 Gen 5" on the slide, it's a Gen 5.

There are other differences between the three generations, like the size of the mag release, the grip texture, and the finger grooves. But the slide markings are the simplest way to tell.

And, when the 26 first came out, it’s just like the Gen 3, but without the front strap checkering. I think they called it the Gen 2.5.

"Gen 2.5" is a laymans/collectors term for the early G26s that didn't have texture in the finger grooves.

There was not an official "Glock Generation 2.5".

Also, the Gen 5’s are “2-pin” lowers.
