Was having a discussion with a buddy about collecting all the 2-- series pistols. I know there's a lot of ways to go with that, like just DA/SA or by caliber but I just enjoy them so I don't know that I'd get to specific to start. Already having a 210, 220, 225, 226 among other Sigs. Has anyone ventured into this? Anything they ran into or struggled to find? This is what I was thinking initially 210 220 224 225 226 227 228 229 230 232 238 239 245 Maybe the 250, 290 or 2022. The 238 is a bit of an oddball in there but still meets the numeric definition. ETA: Added the 239. It’s one of my favorites and can’t believe I missed it.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Peanut71,

My other Sig is a Steyr. |
Sounds like fun. I have managed to collect all of the calibers for the P226 and P220. Waiting for a deal on a 9mm P228 to have all of those as well. The P250? Would that include one from Germany? I don't think that it would be as much of a cost issue as much as the difficulty finding the version you don't have (and it'll get kinda spendy). Good luck.

i have all of those except the 230. I felt the 232 pretty much covered both of them!! I decided to just do them all in DA/SA, except the 210 and 238 of course.

I've considered doing this. I have variations of many hammer fired Sigs and added a P239 basically just to own one. Which is missing from your list. My current list: 210 220 225 226 228 229 239 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

For the P225, might want to include the 225-A1, also. And for the P229, might want to have both the original Legacy slide gun and the current long external extractor one. Q

I've created a Saved Search on GB for my state. I've found several this way. I can at least save the $35-$40 on shipping, and sometimes there's no transfer fee if the store has it on consignment. Saving ~$75 per gun really helps.

Having 226 229 239 220 the only other one that I don't have is the P210. Not interested much in the others - not that there is anything wrong with them.

I have done this and got done a few years ago..... P220 9mm EU style AB date (Sigforum Exclusive) P220ST .45 German Frame P224 9mm Sig Custom Shop P6 & P225 and P225A1 (1 each) A couple P226s P227 Carry (45 ACP) P228 (2001 no proofs) P229 "Elite" (I had others back in the day) P239 9mm (tactical and a SAS) P245 (.45 ACP) Sig Pro 2022 P250SC P290RS P238 (380 auto) everything in 9mm unless otherwise noted, I probably listed everything, I would go for a Swiss P210 but the price doesn't excite me and the collection already has a DWM Luger so I feel I've got old expensive 9mm's covered. I used to have a Sig Forum special 229ST one of 50 in .40 and also I had another Sig Forum special P232 "Nightmare" but a friend got it eventually. This message has been edited. Could be fun, indeed. I once thought about doing this, but then a couple of things managed to get in the way. Instead of the broad family collecting approach, I found myself instead accumulating different P220s, P226s and P229s, which of course screwed up the whole budgeting thingy. Plus I then found that I didn't like the P239 all that much and that morphed into zero desire to buy one, and right there this pretty much ended any further idea of continuing the quest. However the best of luck to you on your journey. Don't forget the P229 Carry (or was it just the 'C'?). Well whatever it was I'm sure you'll have quite the experience finding all of those unique and notably different variants that go beyond mere aesthetics. But it's SIG, and those tarted up pieces DO exist to tempt the unwary soul. Just don't do rainbow. Definitely not rainbow. -MG

Those nickel Sigs are sweet. I can't believe I forgot the 239 on my initial list. I'm setting up my Gunbroker search right now but not a lot of hopes being in Wyoming. I think having the 228, 229 and 239 are next on my list. Although if I find a 230/232, 245, 224 or 227 I wouldn't balk at them. I think starting with the DA/SA classic Sigs are my starting point.

Don't forget the P240, it's more classic Sig to me than the P238.

The 240 was a new one for me. I had to look that one up.
