The Sig P320 and discharges.
Here's a 6360RDS with a P320 W/ TLR-1 in it. In the pictures my finger is bottomed out against the opening, and is not touching the trigger. Yes, I can force it in there, but it takes significant force as it has to bend the plastic. Does it provide perfect, 100% protection for the trigger? No. But it's not a gaping maw, either.

lol. Yes it is. You seem to be pretty desperate to blame anything but the 320.

When in fact, my unit points guns at people almost daily. Gets into fights at least a couple times a week. And there are zero problems with the 6000 series and Glock. You’d think if the problem was with the holster, it would show up widely on the street. Matter of fact, I don’t know of a single incident statewide. And the 6000 series is king and the state is 80 percent Glock. Not a single instance. Not. one. And yep, I have had people try to disarm me as recently as last month in a fight with a guy high on ‘shrooms.

And most of the social media influencers that bad mouth yhe 6000 series also strangely seem to be sponsored by Alien Gear. Weird, no conflict there.

1) This is the WML Gap issue
2) It is not specific to a particular holster or gun

I wish my Safariland had a gap that size. Maybe mine was made on a Friday right before shift ended. Maybe I should have contacted SF at the time and tried to get them to replace mine as defective. Safariland isn’t the easiest company to deal with though so I doubt that would have worked. I’ll try to post a pic of a gaping maw.

I sent pics to 92fs because my hosting site is acting like the asshole.

In all fairness, the DO holsters are quite a bit more open. The DO was an earlier design to be a catch all light/optic combo because at that times Safariland didn’t offer the line of 6xxx RDS holsters that were more fit for specific combos.

But, the gap is still a non issue for actual use. If it was this thread would be littered with videos of non-SIGs popping off while holstered. The holster is not the problem.

Edited- I can’t post pictures any longer either. I’ve just about given up on it.

I just checked my email...not seeing them. If you want to try again I'd be happy to host/post them.

So, a couple things here. Clearly, the RDO series is different from the RDSO series, and the iterative changes they made that very clearly cover and protect the trigger and trigger guard. There's a TLR-VIR II under there, fwiw, so broad brush statements about "gun bucket holsters" and "gaping maws" and "cavernous" openings on these types of holsters don't do much for honest conversation IMO. I have no doubt that some of the older Safariland models weren't as well protected, but clearly with the newer ones, you're not getting a finger in there unless your hands are so small that you have no business trying to work a handgun in the first place.

Yeah that clearly closes up the gap significantly.

The holster is PART of the problem.
It is not the entire problem.

I resent the pics to 92fs. So apparently the DO stands for Directly Open to anything or some such. Glad to hear the newer holsters are better than my POS.

The holster is PART of the problem. That's clear because almost every P320 UD involves a holster.
It is not the entire problem.

A holster is part of the problem. Not all of the discharges have been Safariland. This is called a variable. By the fact that A) not all 320 firings have occurred in Safariland holsters and B) no other manufacturer seems to have guns going bang in Safariland holsters, it becomes disingenuous to blame Safariland for the problem.

Safariland 6000 series holsters are not the problem.

That looks like a Ebay knockoff made by "SAFURRYLAND". Big Grin

I can assure you that is not a knockoff. They made them huge. Like I said before, I’m glad they pulled their head out of their ass. How many holsters like mine though are still floating around out there?

I own a dozen SF holsters but I have never bought another wml version from them.

Thanks 92fs.

That's definitely the worst I've seen.

You keep moving the goalposts.
I never said Safariland was the only holster.
For example, this recent USAA incident looks like a Blackhawk Omnivore holster.
You're firmly anchored in your beliefs, and that's fine.

I should have gotten my money back. At the time I thought they all were like mine. Ugh.

Yeah that’s not right. I just tried 3 different holsters , a 6360RDS and two 6280RDS and I could barely stuff my finger in past the finger nail. Pulling the trigger was not an option and I don’t have big hands.

I don't know, but yours is the only one I've ever seen that looks like that. I get that you're forming an opinion based on your sample size, but it's a seriously fucked up sample. Razz

So is pedropcola’s holster defective? Is it not possible that there are other holsters of this model that were made the same way?

If something dropped into that gap and pulled the trigger when retrieved would that be the gun or the holster that allowed it to happen?

The FBI was able to get two different types of keys to pull the MSP officer’s P320’s trigger while in a holster.
