stiabEasiest way to replace faded Sig night sights?
I have a 239 SAS with fading NS. IIRC we used to be able to just mail the slide in somewhere and get the tubes replaced, leaving sight bases in place, and it wasn't too expensive. Am I remembering that correctly, and is it still available? I appreciate your help!!

SIGfourmeTool tech worked with Trijicon in the past on inserting new tritium vials. I don’t think either of them re lamp worn out tritium because of the radioactive content.
Sig used to offer removal and replacement of night sights at a decent price. Unsure if that is still available.

blueinterceptorSig will still replace the sights. Not the vials. Nobody does just the vials because of some federal nrc rules.

TN MarkThe Von Stavenhagen bar-dot sights and a Lasermax guide rod system is, IMHO, an excellent system.

patwThe one thing I finally bought and should have bought years ago was a sight tool. They are very easy to use and not that expensive-can be had for around/under $50,depending on type. I bought a used Uni-2ool years ago and have used it many times. Now I can play around with sight set ups and mix and match what works for me.

I agree! Have been using both for 34 years now.

That's definitely the easiest way for sure. A friend of mine has a tool, I just borrowed it for a weekend and was up and running without an issue.

MWCBuy a sight pusher tool. Buy new sights. Remove old sights with new sight pusher tool. Clean dovetails. Install new sights.

stiabThanks for all the replies. At age 75, and only one gun needing sights, I won't be buying the tool

bonanacroinI have a set of Sig night sights taken off a 2018 P226 build. They still have some glow to them. If they work for you and you are interested, they are yours for free. My email is in my profile.

Might be a local member that could loan/assist?

That is a very gracious offer, and I sincerely appreciate it. Will put in in the mix for consideration, thanks again.

Plenty of gunsmiths still change sights using a bench vise, hammer, & punches.
IIRC, we used to have a travelling MGW sight pusher for Sig P-classics that got mailed around by SF members. I don't know where or how that ended.
