OttoSigCouldn’t resist anymore, bought a new gun
My Kimber 2k11 and everything I have read says Kimber is on the rise. I compared this pistol to Dan Wesson offerings 20 years ago. When Dan Wessons were sub $1k, they were an excellent value. I believe they still are but that’s not the point.
For less than $900 this pistol has a bobbed or fastback back strap, checkered front and back straps, optics ready, and a bull barrel. I think that alone would push $700 in upgrades.
I think Kimber is learning a lot from their 2k11 line.
I’m hopeful this one works just as well.

92fstechI agree with your thinking. And that is definitely one nice looking pistol. If I was after a 1911 I'd be sorely tempted at that price.

1KPerDayLooks like a solid deal for sure. I love the 2-tone look in 1911s. I'd put black or maybe blue grips on it but otherwise, very tasty. Let us know how it shoots!

Agreed.
Even in the low $1k range, they were an excellent value.
Now that they're pushing $2k+, while they're still great quality guns, the value equation has shifted a bit.
I'm glad I got mine back before the price really took off.

Wessons have always been expensive but worth it. They are beautiful and well crafted. I see one in my future but have not bit on one yet.

I remember buying a brand new CBOB 20 years ago for 925$ or so. Like an idiot I sold it. Actually had 2-3 bobs over the years and now I have none. I’ll remedy that one day.

VoshterkoffDid they ever make a railed vbob? That would be a neat piece. Both of my DW pistols were purchased a while ago.
