I was planning on getting a Romeo Zero Elite but met someone complaining about batter Life.

Anyone with either Romeo Zero please chime in.

Says he is going through a battery every couple of months.

What are other people's experiences?

Yep, same experiences. I have it on my P365, carry it in the am on my run/walk for about an hour or so and put the gun up.

Lasts about 2 months, and I don't have the dot set to max brightness.

I wouldn't buy another.

I've had a P365 Romeo Zero for about 15 months now.

First battery from the factory lasted 3 months. The second one, one I purchased new from Amazon and a brand name unlike the first, is now at 12 months and going strong.

I get up in the morning, put on the gun IWB and it remains there all day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year except for when I'm in the shower or the pool or sleeping in bed.

It's not on maximum brightness, but it's close to it and is extremely visible under all light conditions, even outside in the Arizona sun.

I'm extremely happy with it and even bought another from a board member here to put on the next gun I buy that needs a red dot.

I have one gun with a 407K and three with 507Ks. No issues with battery life in any of them. Batteries are replaced annually as a preventative measure. ALWAYS Duracell.

The 407K/507K are aluminum, waterproof, have a glass lens, and have actual brightness buttons.

This was a deal-breaker for me w/ the Romeo Zero. It was as if its designers asked, "What is the least user-friendly, biggest PITA way we can design to adjust brightness on our RDS?

They managed to find a solution inferior to the DPP. That is an accomplishment.

This thread is a good reminder!

I have a Holosun 407k on my P365x and it has been a Year. Time to change it!
I am retired so it is on the nightstand or console and I don't wake it up much as someone more active and the battery has lasted a year,
Going to change it right now!

If you get 3V lithium button cell batteries from a reputable brand, they last a long time. Why change the battery every 12 months to "be on the safe side", when you can check its voltage and be sure?

If you have multimeter, you can use that. You can also get a household battery tester for ~$6.

I got a similar one from Harbor Freight.

These are also great for testing batteries past their best buy/expiration dates. Lithium batteries especially are often good well beyond their 'use by' dates.

Just changed the battery on my RZE that came factory standard on my P365XL. I bought last August.

Also just changed it in another I bought used maybe last October or November. Not sure how long the previous one had been in there. Both changed in February. We’ll see how long they last.
