XFive SXGAn uncommon P320 issue
Hi, everyone!
After 1-1/2 weeks of ownership of my P320 I found an issue nobody has pointed out. When I first started checking out the handguns action on dry firing, something strange was going on. Tightness and the delayed racking stage to reset trigger.
I looked over things as it was factory tested and tested by seller before sell, looked (no wear tagged and bagged. So it's considered new.
I oiled and lubed... still the odd racking action, even though slide seemed smoother.
So, I searched new P320 reviews and saw similar issues with live rounds, where the first 5 or so required some help with slide return.
I recently aquired compition spring kits and disassembled every component. During the process I noticed an issue with sear safety spring. It seemed loose when I looked at the FCU. I ignored it but kept the visualization in mind for reassembly.
I found info about which side of the spring to place under the sear safty. Once fitted, I realized the arm that secures against its edge, ended up moving under and behind.
I fiddled with the interaction and found depending on handling or inserting the spring, it may allow the sear safety to tilt or pull wmaway from the FCU to allow enough gap for the spring to disengage. Which can make accidental discharge when dropped, along with return action during racking.
Issue remedied now and a fully buttery smooth action with 12 lbs recoil spring. Moved to my prefered spring now that I am confident on the handgun's action.
