pedropcolaSA Emissary 4.25 9mm
So I went through a resurgence of loving 9mm 1911’s. Especially the commander length versions. Ended up with a couple SA Emissaries. One of which is the blacked out full length dust cover railed version. I liked this gun except it wouldn’t feed reliably. Granted I was using steel cased Magtech (easier to police “brass” at my range) but after it failing to feed after a couple hundred rounds and multiple cleanings and relubings I tried brass as well. Still wouldn’t feed reliably.
Literally I would get in the habit of heel slapping the back of slide to chamber the round. Ugh. So I sent it back. Pretty painless.
Came back on Monday and I ran a bunch through it yesterday. According to SA they recut and polished the feed ramp, polished the throat and chamber, and tuned the extractor. I don’t know if they did all that but yesterday the gun worked fine except for 2 failures to extract but once again I’m using cheap steel case so I put that on the ammo.
Only other real point is these guns have the same U notch, half circle, and colored front night sights that I think are standard on the Hellcats. I hate these sights. They are quick but they suck to my eyes for any kind of accuracy at any real distance. They also shoot noticeably high. Equal height equal light is a lollipop scenario at best. I need to swap these out.

Dump1567I had one for a while. It was a bit heavy for carry for what it was. I pulled the FLGR to lighten it up. I think it's 10-8 Performance that makes the reverse plug for these.
Loosening the extractor tension probably would have fixed your issue. That's one of the first things I check when I pick-up a new 1911. And I agree on the sights. Although I've got countless U notch rears, I think I actually prefer the square. At least for accuracy work.
