P210 Cohen Carry Horrible

Wow, I liked the regular 210 Carry for its more basic looks honestly but this is just not right. Polished black slide ehhh. That doesn't scream carry to me. Getting rid of the P210 Carry to just sell this custom before completely getting rid of the P210 Carry I figure? I was more excited when P210 Carry first came out. I hoped SIG would make the P210 Carry so they could be priced like any other metal framed SIG at this point (I figured 899-1099 would have been good). I was wrong. I'll wait for the P210 Carry Rainbow Titanium with gold barrel/controls and holes in the slide... lol

That is my impression as well- something chosen at random out of a clip art catalog by some latte-sucking marketing person on their lunch hour.

If I had to guess, given the lackluster sales of the P210 Carry, Sig decided to terminate its production but either miscounted parts remaining in inventory OR they decided to offer a "special edition" with the limited parts left, to see if they can maximize profits given the impending termination. Either way, someone in Marketing had to define what the product and pricing was going to be. The shit upgrades (or downgrades IMHO) makes me wonder if there was a corporate bonus tied to the net revenue that could be generated by the sales of these so-called custom pistols. That's a pathetic way of running a product line, made worse by doing it with the most venerable pistol in Sig's history. It's not like we're asking for a great deal of innovation when many of us (years ago) were outspoken regarding the desire for a double-stack frame. Whether full-size and all-steel like the original Sig 44/16 or modeled after the Carry model with an Al frame, a double stack P210 should be well received. One only has to look at the 2011 market but Sig is asleep or like Para stated - simply doesn't care.

I'd like those grips to put on my P210A Target. That's about it.

Yeah I said I prefer the standard, poor choice of wording. I meant the standard P210 carry. I’m all for P210’s and love Sigs in general, as my collection shows. But honestly, if it’s anything outside of stainless or black, I tend to not want it. I don’t particularly care for polished anything on any firearm. Just looks dumb. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

Dakar makes a solid point. There are much better refinements that could be pursued by Sig on the American 210 model. Owning both the target and carry, both pistols are exceptional copies of a great firearm albeit CNC dependent. To this date, holster support is limited to one shop, the carry model G10 grips are not available for purchase and the website does not have parts support for the model. Why? Because Sig has not fully developed this great firearm to meet the needs of it customers! Is Sig having an identity crisis? Look at the 220, 226, 229 variations…the model lines now only carry a few different offerings. These were once the powerhouse workhorses for Sig that are now second seat to the 320 and 365 models to which I own none and will not own. In fact, the 210 model is the only model that I currently find interesting in the Sig line up. I would like to put a Swiss P210 in the stable but the price for one of these gems is too high for me. With the rise of the 9mm 2011 type systems and the Wilson SFX, Sig is behind the pacesetters and is losing ground everyday they continue this half ass model development. C’mon Sig! There is customer support for the double stack 210. There is customer support for a steel frame Carry model. There is customer support for optic mounted models that could be supported by an enlarged 210 slide hump. Your 220,226 and 228 customers will pay more for metal guns but they need to Be the Pacesetters! Edit: while I support variations to the model, I prefer the single stack versions and would not want to see them go. I proudly own a P225a1 which I adore. After saying all that I said above, it is probably difficult for firearm companies to keep up with the Uber picky American gun buyers. JP

Sig just needs to make an optics ready sig p210 and sell the ever living shit out of them. Tradition be damned. Their job is to cater to the customer and the customer wants a optics ready version not a dlc slide decorated in white scribble.

I came back to this thread after picking up my custom carry. I agree, the graphics are awful. However, the finish on the slide truly reminds me of the bluing found on early pythons. It’s high polish to say the least. I will investigate in the future if there would be a way to remove said offensive markings. NRA Training Counselor NRA Benefactor Member

Are they lasered engraved or just some strange appliqué done in Cerakote or something? ________________________________________ "Just A Wild Eyed Texan On a Manhunt For The World's Most Perfect Chili Dog...."

Be cheaper to look for the non-offensive Carry on the secondary market. Q

Oh I’ve got that covered. The polish gives it enough to make me inquire if possible. NRA Training Counselor NRA Benefactor Member

Not sure how you can remove the engraving without damaging the polished finish. But of course, I'm no expert. Q

I am very glad to have taken advantage of SIG's discount for Instructors at just the right time. SIG sold me a "real" carry for less than wholesale - and I still have it. Wonderful performer. Not for sale. - improved Carry is just ugly, but it probably performs very well - and, afterall, who looks at the pistol's "decoration" when shooting ? Mac in Michigan
