94hokieWhich WML for an H&K 45c
After reading a lot of these threads on having a weapon mounted light on your house gun, I've decided to try it out. My nightstand gun is an H&K 45c so am looking at recommendations for that. It uses a Picatinny rail so more options than the USP Compact line. Any that you guys would recommend? Thanks.

cslingerSo you only have a couple out of the box options as the 45c rail basically fits..... well damn near nothing.
I have a Crimson Trace CMR-208 on mine and I am very happy with it.
If you want to go TLR-7 or TLR1 etc. go to HKpro.com and look for Matt??? His name escapes me but ask over there. He does custom key inserts for the TLR’s for like 10 bucks.
You can see my CT light on the middle 45c here.

bobandmikakoI have a CT CMR-208 on order myself. I was unpleasantly surprised to realize that my TLR-7, which fit my smaller P30SK just fine, doesn't fit the HK45C at all. I figured it would work with at least one of the six insert keys, but nope.

sns3guppyI like the TLR-1. Presently using the TLR-1HL at home on a G21.

94hokieYeah I've read where most people recommend the TLR-3 for this, might have to check that out as its only around $88 online.

cslingerSo apparently some TLR-1s will fit and others not because mine will not fit unaltered.

SigM4While I like most of Streamlight’s products I would never recommend an TLR-3 unless you had no other choice.
As cslinger said I’d buy one of the custom keys off HKpro user ‘mattfrey’ for use with a TLR-7.
Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

cslingerTLR-3 is not a great light. The CMR208 is cheaper, much nicer, brighter and has a better beam IMO.
Other Streamlight products are solid but the TLR3 notsomuch.

ACP1I have an HK45 with a Surefire X300 Ultra on mine and it works well. Not sure how much shorter an HK45c is.

I agree. I'm a big fan of the TLR-1 (especially the TLR-1HL) and the TLR-7A, but not of the TLR-3.
The TLR-3 is flimsy in construction since it uses polymer for both the light body and also for the rail attachment (resulting in a long history of broken/cracked attachments), it hangs unnecessarily far below the handgun, it's not very bright (only 125 lumens), it uses a nonstandard battery (CR2 instead of CR123A), and the rear toggle is mushy and overly flexible.
It was Streamlight's first attempt at a compact weaponlight, and they really whiffed it.
If you want something more compact than the TLR-1 models, then go with the
TLR-7A. The TLR-7A is their newer and better compact weaponlight, and is far superior to the TLR-3.
