I'm used to the 19/26. I have the "muscle memory" built so that I can bring it up on target, sights aligned. VP9sk is finally on roster and available for sale in this stupid state. I'm thinking about getting one, having tried it a number of years ago. However, I'm concerned that it may require different "muscle memory" than the 19/26, which may mess up using the glocks. Anyone with both - how different is the VP9sk vs the 19/26? I may not want to pursue the VP9 if it's going to mess w/ my glock hold. Unless I can completely switch over the the VP9 away from glock (the block here is that the Deltapoint Micro is not available for the H&K). The VP9SK was recently discontinued. Don't wait too long if you decide to get one. No, Google is not my friend.

VP9SK is larger than a G26 and consequently doesn't suffer as much from dangling pinky syndrome. It comes w/ S, M, & L size backstraps & grip panels, so I think if you mess around trying different inserts, you'll get something that is very close to your preferred Glock hold.

Don't forget you'll need to get used to paddle mag release. I have no issues switching between my Glock and VP9. I actually like my VP9 over my Glocks. Fits my hand better. I prefer the paddle release. It's the only reason I never got the HK CC9. Not minority enough!

The HK is a bigger design and with the costs of both over the years, you are better off with the Glock. An example is the recoil spring. The HK recoil spring costs around $80-90 for a replacement at this time and even aftermarket spring set ups can cost $60 or more. Aftermarket support is limited. Magazines will cost you double that of a Glock unless you can find them used. Working on them is not easy without a couple different tools, especially the trigger return spring. You can't just swap out a trigger on the VP series as easily as a Glock and you can screw up your frame doing so if you are not careful. With that said, I do think they have the most comfortable grip/frame you can get, due to all of the grip pieces/panels to customize the frame to your hand. The "B" model has an "American" magazine release, so you don't have to deal with the paddle. I am also glad to see HK did away with the "trigger trough" that caused many issues with their trigger finger during shooting, myself being one. I have a VP9 and like it but it is a fun range gun and too big to carry, at least for me, compared to other guns that offer the same capacity.

Yea, sad to hear that the VP9sk is being discontinued - just when they become available for purchase here. I'm not sure if the new VP9 models are going to be available here. But I prefer the smaller size first. Good to hear that the switching between the VP9sk and the 26 may be easy. I'm okay w/ the pinky and the paddle release (same release I believe as the P2000sk). I actually prefer the paddle release - it's much easier for me to manipulate given weaker, smaller hands. I noticed that there is a new model - CC9. But I don't know what the difference is to the VP9 and anyways likely can't buy it. I'm concerned about the more tools and more difficult detailed stripping of the HK vs the Glock. I'll look into that more. Hopefully there is a take down video. Other than the reliability and price of Glocks, one important aspect for me was the ability to completely self maintain. Other than TCO and more complex maintenance, sounds like it's easy to switch back and forth. The only other challenge than is RDS - getting the Deltapoint Micro installed. It may be no-go if I can't get that done. Thanks guys. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." I don’t have the SK, but I enjoy the VP9 Match with RDS. I consider it a different animal than a comparable full size 9mm, like the Glock 17. If you get the SK and find you don’t like it, you could always keep it for times when guns are in shorter supply and prices are higher. Or sell to a friend looking for a good carry 9mm. That all being said and if I had to choose between the SK and 26, I would pick the 26 due to a) it’s ability to use any double-stack Glock 9mm magazine and b) if I ever used it for defense and it was confiscated during an investigation, I would be less worried about what happens to it in lockup.

Konota88 if you are talking about California than I feel your pain. I just picked up a VP9SK about 2 weeks ago. When you mention Roster if you mean the CA Roster your going to have one hell of a time trying to find a VP9sk since they are discontinued but they are still making parts and HK will still warranty them. I searched every gun store in the area and they either never got one in or if they did they are long sold out and won't be able to order one. When I was looking on a whim 6 showed up by some miracle online and 5 sold with in a week so I found the last one at the best price and had it shipped to a local FFL vs driving over 5 hours twice to pick up in person. Since I've had multiple HK's with the paddle release and have a full size VP9 as a bedside gun for many years I'm familiar with the platform. I bought it for my top choice for when I apply soon for my CCW. I tried a Glock 26 range rental, dirty little bastard jammed practically every round didn't want to chance it by buying one. Next was the Sig 365 shot flawlessly but didn't make me want to get one right away. The Glock 26 is a little smaller than the HK but the Sig is even smaller/thinner. Now with Glock changing to the V series every store locally is sold out and unless you want to pay through the nose you can order one online if you can find a Gen 3. If you are in CA the HK CC9 will be coming to the Roster god knows when and it's thinner and a tad smaller than the VP9SK. I'll probably pick one of those up when available. After watching some videos the VP9 is a pain in the ass to detail strip vs a Glock unless you are modding it I don't think you will need to know how to do it. I only looked into to it to remove the magazine disconnect but I'm not allowed to modify it if I want to CCW so I'll leave it alone.

I don’t know you are getting your mags and springs for your HK’s but you are getting hosed. Also, Glock has raised their rates for mags and parts steadily over the last couple years so the days of HK parts being double if Glock parts are in the past…

defns, yes thanks for sharing. The 19/26 have been good for me. No real reason to move away from them other than the vp9 seemed a little more natural for me AND I'm not comfortable with the direction glock is heading. Maybe the best thing is to look into cc9 someday. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." L.Tolstoy "A government is just a body of people, usually, notably, ungoverned."
