I traded for a P220 that externally was a little bit worse for wear, so I had it cerekoted and put in the Sig parts kit and SRT kit. Great pistol. This was my first P series (except for my P938). Now I am wanting a P229. I do have several Sig 1911s. Before  After: frame is satin silver , slide and controls are charcoal.  This message has been edited. Mike - Welcome to SIGforum! That's a nice treatment on your pistol. While my research on the P220 generally ends around the time SIG moved assembly of the pistol to our shores, it appears to me your pistol has an older stamped carbon steel slide mated to a newer railed receiver. By the mid 1990's, SIG was assembling P220's in the United States from German manufactured parts. Eventually complete production was moved to the US. By the mid 2000's (the vintage of your receiver) I'm fairly certain SIG was using milled slides manufactured in the US. I'm not 100% certain when SIG introduced the milled slide (or the railed receiver for that matter), though I'm sure others who are more knowledgable on the later P220's will chime in. | |||

Thanks, I have been a member but not active. Very active on the 1911 forum and Rimfire Central though. Mostly lurked on here. I'm sure you are right. The Slide has "Made in Germany" on the right side and "Exeter-NH" on the left. When I installed the SRT kit, I found the ejector was part of the slide release instead of being a separate piece. Yessir, I'd say you are correct. From you photos, I was able to read your serial number as G 35xxxx which places you firmly in the 2004 range. | |||
