Looking to upgrade the grips on my slow motion project Browning Hi Power. It's a MkIII, matte finish, so no collector value or anything. Trigger work has been done, it will eventually get Novak sights fitted and probably a black chrome re-finish. Looking at VZ's but not really thrilled about their limited color options for Hi Powers.

Suggestions and photos appreciated.

Have a set of Zombie green Lok grips on my regent. Also a set of Hogue aluminum in matte green on order. I would suggest a nice checkered wood if you were going with a deep blue.

A Perpetual Disappointment...

If you are looking for some of the thinnest wood grips(and checkered) available for a BHP, then go to Brownells and look up Navidrex grips. If you wish to spend more $, then look at Spegels.

The only two I've changed from factory are a set of VZ's and a set of Spegel's. The Spegel's look better, but the VZ's are nice in the hand.

What, me worry?

I've had them all and I always return to Craig Spegel's. They're simply the best for fit, finish, and feel.

This. These are great grips I use these or Spegels. I like these for carry work and hard range use because sweat will wear out the finish on Spegels. He will refinish them but it these will have no issues with water or sweat.

Still hard to beat the look of Spegels.

I really like my Hogue Kingwood grips. Look and feel. I like the Novak sights I had put on mine. But then I saw WVsig's (hello from THR), what finish and sights are on that BHP?

On the first gun it is wearing a S&W Revolver sight. The upper is blued the lower is hard chromed by APW Cogan.

The second one is blued with matte rounds & polished flats from Mr Yost. The sights are Yost rear and Gold line front sight.

I have Herrett's on my two HPs and prefer them since they're a bit thicker than most:

For looks and class, Spegel. For best improvement for the money, Pachmayr full set with frontstrap or Hogue rubber with finger grooves.

I've put these Hogues on both of my Hi Powers. Good checkering, a great fit and they do look sharp. YMMv Rod

I would recommend Siegel grips, Craig is a wonderful fellow, mine should arrive in a week or two.

I have a pair of G10 slums on the BHP now and not really keen on them.
