Years ago I traded a rough Beretta Centurion for a like new G23. I don’t shot much 40 so I can’t really say I shot more than a couple boxes through her in all those years.

I got back on a Glock kick though. Finally broke my fear and stippled a Gen3 G34 that I loved but the fingers grooves sucked and the grip was very ungrippy. Much better. It drove home though how much I prefer the Gen4 Glocks across the board. So.

Over the holidays I found a bunch of good sales. The last part arrived yesterday. The gun is a 23 Gen4 frame. I added an on sale because they discontinued blue Overwatch Precision TAC trigger. Blue the black blade. Wouldn’t have been my color choice but at 55 dollars cheaper I can live with blue! It has Vickers Tactical mag release and slide release. I prefer these and they are on all my Gen4’s and 43. Magpul magwell. Hmmmm. Want to like this. I like the shelf it provides for my strong hand. I like the magwell. However some mags just plain won’t seat without a bit of dremeling. I will play with this at matches but long term who knows.

The slide is a Gunslingers Armory Gen4 with RMR cut. Never heard of them so I was a bit worried when it kept not arriving. However, every time I contacted them they answered and the answers made sense and were reasonable. It arrived yesterday and it is nice. I am not a fan of lightening cuts but they are tasteful and the slide has ZERO markings so it is wicked clean which is my preference. The plate cover has a very tasteful, Greek looking, inscription. No friggin clue what it says.

I filled the slide with OEM Glock parts including a Glock barrel. OP Have Blue sights. Very nice btw. The sight overlapped the plate cover by a smidge so I had to file it down a tiny bit. ZEV dimpled back plate just because it looked nice to my eye.

It is 10 degrees outside so no sight in or range report. On to pictures.

Looks nice. I like some of the things they are doing with the slide designs. I eventually had one done myself and added a few other things on it- mag well, extended controls, trigger, etc. but the best thing I did to it was to add an extended slide lock. For me it makes it so much easier to disassemble. The Glock is like the adult version of Lego kits.

Yep. I like the slide. I like the forward serrations. They are grippy in a way that the standard slide can't touch, even the factory forward serrations. I could do without the cuts though. I'm not very high speed and they seem like a good place for debris to enter, they look cool to me though and I can definitely feel the gun is lighter.

The Vickers Tactical slide lock is extended. I agree that that is an improvement over stock.

Reading your post I think you meant extended takedown lever perhaps?

I agree, it is amazing at how well those cuts allow for a better grip while racking the slide. Especially for you poor guys living in those temperatures. I can't imagine -10 below. Eek

The slide lock I have is the take down/disassembly lever. For some reason,Glock named their parts kind of funny.
