Picked up a nice little P232 Stainless, but can't really find any info on it. It is not marked "SL" and has the German made frame but Exter marked slide. I haven't seen the P232 in stainless that wasn't marked "SL". It has the grooved top strap and night sights but not the Houge grips and it came with 3 mags. The Model number has me baffled with the "CCP" on the end of the model number as I have not seen that designation. It is not a CPO. The real strange one for me is the FDE Sig Case. I have never seen one before. Anybody have any info on these?

Maybe it was a limited run? Came with 3 mags? Maybe CCP is Concealed Carry Package? It's a factory SL at least, the box matches the gun. ------------------------------------------------ Charter member of the vast, right-wing conspiracy

Didn't even realize that SIG had a FDE case back then. Actually, never seen a SIG FDE case. Q

I wonder if that was an early slide change, which is why no SL marking. Isn't 2009 when they changed to vertical serrations? I dunno. That tan box is different...never heard of such a thing from SIG. It's gotta be some special order for some dealer. You have all the info, try calling SIG, see if they can tell you something else? ETA: what I meant by factory SL is that's how it was made, it wasn't someone blasting and polishing and mix-matching frame. ------------------------------------------------ Charter member of the vast, right-wing conspiracy

To say that setup is unique would be an understatement. If 12131 hasn't seen it, well... __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

Hmmmm..... never seen a tan box either! I wonder if it is a limited issue for a distributor. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

The marking is "Made in Germany" not Frame Made in Germany." Wouldn't that mean that the gun was made in Germany?

That's just the Flomax talking |
FYI, we had a tan SIG box in the SIG box thread in the Gallery, however, folks don't keep their photos posted so the thread is losing value. The OP's P232 has the late US made slide. Yes, SIG stopped the SL marking.

Doesn't CCP stand for California Compliant Pistol? I could be wrong. Nice find, btw . Mike You can run, but you cannot hide. If you won't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

How can you tell the whole gun is made in Germany, or only the frame?

Experience here and previous ownership of a similar gun. One way to tell is the absence of German proof marks.

Am I the only one who can't see the pics? I'm getting those Photobucket icons only.

No, the photos are down. I guess the OP didn't pay the ransom.
