archermanPalmetto AR Pistols
I have decided I need a new toy, and I have been eye-balling the Palmetto 7.5" AR pistol, are they any better or worse than any other AR pistol???
Thanks,
Archerman

JGThey’re good to go I just prefer the 10.5 because I don’t need a flash can on it.

1s1kHopefully using it to shoot outdoors.

LincolnSixEchoI have the 10.5” PSA and I really love the looks and the feel of this set up. It’s super handy and nimble compared to my 16” Spikes M4LE. I thought I read that the 7.5” was more prone to issues though I have no real world experience. I have read that 10.5” is as short as you wanna go for the 556 AR platform. Hell, BCM I believe even thinks 11” is the best as they didn’t offer the 10.5” last time I checked. Now 300 blackout, that may be a different story. A guy at the range the other day had a 8” PSA 300BLK and it was sweet!
Here’s a pic of my 10.5”. Got a new mag at the gun show the other day

sigarms229I built one using a PSA kit for around $400. The lower is a local made one from Lanco Tactical.
I also prefer the 10.5" barrel as I've seen videos comparing the 7.5"/10.5" and at 50 yards the 10.5 performed much better. Mine runs perfect.

Chris OrndorffThe 7.5 is just ignorantly loud although tolerable with a suppressor. MUCH prefer the 10.5 (better ballistics too).

Yes. Yes they are.

Ryanp225Here's my PSA 10.5" build. I added the Magpul SL handguard and grip along with the matching Shockwave brace.
So far it's been 100% reliable and a joy to shoot.

ChowserMy dealer bought a bunch of their 8.5" 300blk pistols and gave me an upper to try out on one of my sbr'd lowers. It's sweet!
I've only done one mag full auto suppressed (ammo costs too much) and it worked great.

46and2I'm a big fan of the 10.5 in 5.56

Turbo216My Palmetto pistols are a 10.5 5.56 and a 8.5 300 blk. They've both functioned flawlessly. I had a PSA 7 inch 9mm for a while, but sold it to fund a different project.
If I were looking for a 7.5 5.56, I'd look to Palmetto first. None of their stuff has ever disappointed me.
Hater of fun since 2001!

hvyhawlerI picked up a 7.5 kit on clearance, have a little over four bills into it. It is nothing but a "FUN" gun. It's loud but I knew it would be, but I think I kind of wanted a conversation piece. I looked at the longer barreled pistols and decided there really wasn't that much of a difference from a carbine. Haven't shot it much, still working on getting a proper optic, but it put an ear to ear grin on my 20yr old sons face, mine too... I'm a Vet and he currently serves..

bubbatimeIve wanted to buy one of the 10.5 uppers for so long, but I just cant make myself do it. If it was an 11.5 inch upper, I would have already bought it.
To get a 10.5 to run it has to be super over gassed. Which is unfortunate, they should have specced out an 11.5 but whatever.

LincolnSixEcho^^^^^ I agree that it has to be gassed well. I have found mine runs any brass so far no issues from 223 to 556, though Hornady Steel match it did not cycle. Ejection is about 3 to 330-4 o’clock so it should be okay, perhaps just needs more break in. Funny thing after that I ran more brass then cheap Tula and it ran like a top so go figure. If it runs everything but only one load then I’m fine with that.

Pale HorseI have only put a few hundred rounds through my 10.5” but it is a blast to shoot and so far totally reliable with .223 and 5.56 both 62 and 55 grain.

They run 11.5 uppers on occasion. I wish it were the standard, though.
