Curious if anyone out there has an RCMP marked 226. Not just a contract over run configuration gun but a 226 with the actual RCMP markings? ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. Only if stolen. RCMP doesn’t surplus it’s stocks. Very anti gun organization at leadership level.

Not quite. I know of at least 6 brand new guns that were sent to a US dealer around 2008 and all were sold before Sig realized their mistake. So there are at least 6 out there and maybe more if they made the same mistake with other dealers. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. My apologies folks. We were discussing these pistols during arguably the most horrific dining experience man has ever had. I misunderstood slightly. The pistols are not marked RCMP. The pistols were sent out before the RCMP contract had been fulfilled so there is a batch (not sure how many total) that made it to the US market with serial numbers that were only intended for the RCMP contract. The over runs should have a different series of serial numbers. My friend I know for sure got six of them, and all sold rather quickly. Not sure if any other dealers got them as well. He was later contacted by Sig wanting the guns back because the contract had not yet been fulfilled and sounds like RCMP was none to happy there were serial numbers that were from their run that made it to civilian market. I have pictures but need to upload them to post image. The one my buddy still knows of being around has serial number U 735 XXX. Putting it as an early 2006 gun (according to the Sig P Series thread). Which would be about right as my friend said he got the guns somewhere between 2007 and 2009 just could not remember off the top of his head. Sorry for the confusion fellas. I misunderstood and thought they were actually marked. And knowing how the members here seem to touch every corner of the Sig market was curious to see if any one had come across and purchased one. Now it would just be based on serial number. I am presuming they are all close to the serial number on the one known gun which would be in the lower end of the series would be my presumption. Which is not as easily identifiable as if they had markings like I originally thought. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I have a DAK P226ST that was supposedly an RCMP contract overrun, serial number U7351xx. (If it matters, I can provide the entire number, but this seems to be the usual practice.) I purchased it in April 2008, and as I recall I got word of its availability shortly after the dealer received it. ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans …. It will make the What Is Your Deal section as soon as I get to an actual keyboard and type of awhile. I have been traveling since the 3rd and just got home.
I am not posting the entire serial number because it is not my gun. You may want to have your pistol added to the big P Series serial number thread stickied at the top of the pistol page. It would seem that your gun is fairly close to the one I know of. Are you still in contact with the dealer that sold you that gun? I’d be curious if they got the same call from Sig requesting the guns back. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I have a log of my guns and usually include the dealer’s name, but for some reason didn’t note it there for this one. I’d have to sort through (many) receipts to try to find it. I think it may have been one of the dealers who was active on the forum at the time, but has since dropped out of sight. It would be interesting to know if it’s one of the guns that was supposed to go to the Mounties, so perhaps that will motivate me to try to determine for sure. ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans …. Yep. There are a small handful of those out there in US civilian hands, sold by S&W from a RCMP contract overrun.

The DHS contract DAK 229s (ICE, USCG, FPS) did not have any agency markings, just a laser engraved barcode with the serial number on the slide. However, I believe SIG also offered the barcode as an option for other LE agency sales.
