I got one of the early ones which is actually my first full price sig. I actually liked it to the point where I traded my X5. I think Jljones hit it on the head, at the time the features were right and I think the first run or atleast mine was very well built. I could care less about the legion marketing which I think is silly, but they sent out a nice case.

I would say that the Mk25 is the new "base" model in my opinion... I still love the nitron finish!

I think Sig got lazy with the grips using SCI G10 grips for a regular P226 DA/SA frame. Should have farmed it out to Hogue, at least they follow the undercut frame with the ones they put out. Hogue Allround grips have the correct contour but that frame is different than a regular 226. Took about 30 minutes to get them to fit with some small rotary files. I think I paid $80 for a checkered set. I have a set of Sig medallions that I was going to put in them but like them the way they are, ditched the small slide lock for a normal one that's functional.

My SAO P226 Legion is 2017 vintage. Did I get a good one? It shoots pretty dang good, and no silly optics cut. I love it. !~God Bless the U.S. Military~! The 40th Anniversary model is a pretty basic P226. As for the Legions, I have the Nitron finished ones, so the finish is not an issue. Calling the P226 and P229 Legions premium priced is a bit of a stretch when you think about the cost associated with other guns, like Atlas Gunworks or Laugo Arms, for instance. YMMV. ________________________________________________________________________________________

I don't own any legions but a number of P226's from different "eras" (w.german mud rail, german, E2, 2023 "Elite"), and they're all good, I'm sure the legions are fine. The P226 is a solid gun.

Don't sell that Legion challenge coin short! It'll great for when you visit the camel flea invested "Oasis Bar and Grill". All the burka babes will be seriously impressed when you slap that coin on the counter!

Well, I’ve been through P226 Legions, P226 Equinox, P229 Legions…and others…have finally found my everyday best, a very slightly used, P226 40th anniversary model and at a very good price as well. This is my one and only Sig now, and a keeper.

I don't have the 226 legion but I do have the 365 legion and it feels quite a bit different then my 365 x macro also has less recoil and I shoot it better. I love the way it looks and the high capacity. for me it was worth it. remember when the p7m8 came out with the coin and walnut box? jubilee I think there were called. I had 3 of them, now look at them kick myself everyday for selling them. not saying they will be that collectable but you never know.

I also like the undercut on the trigger guard. Not sure but the new regular P226 may also have that. 1.SRT 2.Short beaver tail 3.adjustable trigger 4.G10 grips 5.X Ray sights 6.range bag Depending on how much you can buy one for I think they are worth extra over standard P226. Jeeps...guns...German Shepherds!
