...and I've pretty much owned them all. The Black Tie is one of the four new Meister Manufaktur pistols Walther is building. Its got a carbon steel frame and slide cut from solid billet steel. Its then Tennifer treated and finished with Stinox, which is a nice satin finish. The one piece wrap around grips are machined from a block of aerospace grade aluminum. The new Dynamik Performance Trigger is possibly the best striker fired trigger I've ever experienced. Even the presentation is top notch... The Black Tie is hefty. It weighs in at 48oz with an empty magazine, which is 5oz heavier than my Q5 Match SF Pro on the left. The Black Tie is near double the price of the standard SF models, but well worth it, in my opinion. Anybody have one of these or any of the Meister ManufaKtur Walthers?

Whoa! That is a nice pistol! "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock "If there's one thing this last week has taught me, it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it." Clarence Worley

Man is Walther turning out some fine products. Would love to see a sight plane photo. Are you going to shoot this bac? I dont believe it would harm it a bit.

Looks nice. Being the cheapskate that I am, I'm not sure it's $2500ish worth of nice, but congrats nonetheless. Strikers certainly have come a long way. Even though I haven't fondled one yet (they're ordered), I like that they redid the trigger; that was one aspect of the SF/SF Pros that I didn't care for when I was contemplating one. Kinda nitpicky on my part but too often the triggers on the regular polymer framed PPQs (including my own PPQ M1) felt nicer than on the SF guns and considering the price points of the SFs, I couldn't get behind that disconnect. -MG

It's all part of the adventure... |
That is gorgeous! A few days ago, I watched a great review of that model on YouTube on the NFA Review Channel; seems to be great gun. Enjoy! I don't own one but will point out that the Dynamic Performance Trigger with the improved fire control is almost $250 itself. Add that to a Q5SF and the gap narrows some.

Nice gun. Heavy sucker. I’m a CZ guy though so I’m used to heavy lol. I bet it’s quite a shooter.

Why is it so much heavier than the other steel-framed Walther? Do they add tungsten somewhere?? --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

Heavier sights, heavier grips, heavier magazines (due to a larger base plate). The biggest difference though is the magwell. While they look identical, the Pro has an aluminum magwell, while the Black Tie’s is steel.

Thank you Very little |
They had three of the special Walthers up at FGE in Ormond two weeks ago, the Patriot, Black Diamond and the Black Tie. Very nice looking and handling firearms...

If only I could try the trigger. Just sold my Q5 SF Peo because I just could not live with the trigger. Wanted to try the Dynamic, but was able to sell it for more than I bought it for. So since you’ve used them all, how does dynamic compare? How is the take up in comparison to SF Pro?

Left-Handed, NOT Left-Winged! |
I bought one of the Dynamic Performance Triggers to put in a Q5 M1 and the slide stop simply will not budge. For those that haven't tried it, swapping a trigger on a PPQ you have to drive the stem of the left side slide stop out of the right side slide stop. I had the whole frame wrapped in green painter's tape, taped to wood blocks, the correct size punch, and banged on it with a 1 lb claw hammer and no luck. No "gunsmith" hammers need apply. It is worse than a super tight trigger pin on a Hi Power, which also took the 1 lb hammer. Getting this trigger in a factory gun would be a LOT better...

That’s a beautiful gun and great photos. It’s funny, I posted a while back about Walther’s Masterwerk guns, my favorite being the Black Tie. And people wouldn’t stop bitching about how much they hated the highly embellished, engraved and gold inlaid models. These high end Walther are sweet. My only issue like SIG’s X5 line is that for whatever reason, Walther doesn’t think people should have extra magazines. Their actually worse for magazine availability than Steyr’s A2MF Which I was able to source 10 spares for. But my PPQ M1? No such luck and I suspect Black Tie mags would be even more unobtainable.

To quote the late Steve Irwin "Ain't she a beaut!" Thank you for sharing the photos and info. There's one on GB now with active bidding approaching $2800.

To Do What is Right and Just |
So I opened this and started reading, and was looking at the pictures and thought to myself, I wonder if bac will buy one of these. Scrolled back up and not surprised at all when I saw it was you. The black tie looks great and walther is definitely stepping things up with this.

How does the build quality and accuracy compare to the vaunted P88 and P88C? Also what's the rationale behind the sparse cocking serrations? Is the recoil spring weight that low?
