I just got the 365XL with standard magazines. I read about 12 round mags but need a baseplatr then I read about the 15 round but perhaps an extension is needed for appearance and finally I see a pinky extension for the 12 round.

I'm ok with the 12 round but how does tgat work and look?

Sorry for such a basic question but knew you guys would have a concise analysis.

Thanks.

The standard P365XL magazines are 12 rounds. Unless you happened to get a version of the P365XL that was produced specifically for states where magazines are restricted to only 10 rounds, these 12 rounders are the flush-fit magazines that should have come with your P365XL. They also sell standalone extra 12 round magazines for the P365XL. These should have witness holes that go up to 12 on the side:

The version of the 12 round magazine with pinky extension is only needed for the smaller (non-XL) P365. These won't work as-is with a P365XL, but you can swap in a flat baseplate to use these with a P365XL just like a "normal" 12 round P365XL magazine. (The older 12 rounds you had to choose one version or another; the newer ones come with both baseplates.) These 12 round P365 magazines with extension will look like this:

The 15 round magazines come with two swappable extended baseplates, a shorter one for use with the P365XL and a taller one for use with the P365. You don't have to purchase a separate XL baseplate to convert it.

Well.....both posts were mag related. However the other was just to assess others thoughts whereas the second was a need for essential information. So.
