Kel-Tec P17 .22LR pistol - Why, Kel-Tec...WHY?
It's a nice little 22 plinker, about on line with the Ruger SR-22. Ken-Tec sells the extra mags for 12 bucks apiece, too. I play with mine often. I've had a number of Kel-Tecs over the years, and still have a P-32 that is decades old and plum-colored, but it still works well. I carry it in running shorts, I have the clip installed. I don't think a pistol that size is adaptable to 22 magnum, though.

I bet the gun out-lives the magazine. Stock up.

I'll stick with my 20 y.o. German

Late to this party, and hate to pull a Lazarus on an old thread, but I took a chance on one of these. Not as sweet pricing as what some have posted here, but I've got to say, it's some of the best 200 dollars I've spent lately. These things are a hoot. Big Grin

Still very early, and cheating with CCI mini-mag for the first 200 rounds, but so far so good.
No malfunctions, even when all 16 were stuffed in the mag and one in the chamber. Slow fire, fast fire, no difference.
What surprised me was that it was fairly accurate POA to POI right out of the box.

It's not perfect, and probably not an adequate defensive pistol - from looking at the pics and videos here you can probably tell it's not intended for that. But as I'm getting older, I find that I have plenty of defensive tools, and I didn't have any great expectations. I just thought it might be a fun little ammo burner for a caliber I'm well stocked in...and I was right.

It's a fun range toy, and even in stock trim, it's got a fiber optic front sight, a rail, a threaded barrel, and three magazines. While I haven't tried it suppressed, in my experience, if a semi runs open, it'll run even better canned.

If you've got a couple hundred to spare, this one is worth a look. (Also would be a great gift idea - where legal, following all the rules of course.)

I've had one for about a year and have 500 rounds or so thru it. It was inexpensive, and KT sold me extra mags for 12 bucks apiece. It's a nice little trail or plinking gun, fairly accurate and not a huge loss if something happens.
