Possible P320 Malfunction.
Yup, the very thing that has supposedly been popping up with SIG P320's happened to me today.

I was running some mag change drills when the slide locked back after the second shot in a 3-round loaded mag. I don't look at stuff like that immediately when it happens but found later {I don't necessarily know which mag is loaded with what # rounds} the mag on the ground with a loaded round next to it.

I really wish I had this video'd.

I wouldn't even have thought about it other than the fact that it has never happened with this pistol before and it was indeed with Ball {RN FMJ} ammo. A handload.

Important?

Maybe not, bur it was interesting to me.

I shoot mostly Truncated Cone Flat Point handloads from this pistol. Next most common are Truncated Cone JHP's. Then RN FMJ's. The former rounds have never bobbled in any way.

Curious. In the FWIW maybe nuthin' category...

What's popping up? People inadvertently pushing up on the catch? I don't quite understand.

Clickbait thread title aside, what I quoted had me thinking you dropped your pistol and it discharged. THAT's the thing that's been popping up with P320's.

So you bumped the slide lock lever and half a malf....

No.

Loaded round ejected {fell out??} along with the previous fired round with the slide locking back after. I have bumped the slide lock before, but never have had this occur.

NOT a simple bumping of the slide lock. When that occurs, if there are any rounds left in the mag, they stay in the mag.

This here appears to be the fuzzily-defined issue said to occur with the mil guns when the GI ball is used. As I said, I wish I had a vid of it to see exactly how it happened.

Maybe it was a little clickbaity, but all you fish took the bait.

Truth is, I have never had any malf with this pistol before.

Is there any chance you might've knocked the top round out of a mag loaded with three rounds, or not quite firmly seated the top round in one of those mags?

I don't know how many mags you were working with, but do the feed lips on any of them appear different from the rest?

Good questions.

No, I really don't think so, but who knows. I've never had anything of the sort happen before. In theory, I guess it is possible I somehow swept the top round out while presenting it, didn't notice it, seated the mag, shot two and the slide locked back.

I have never done such a thing before that I recollect, but I guess it cannot be 100% ruled out, tho I do not think that happened.

Mags look the same.

Does that pass muster?

If not give me some pointers and I'll fix it.
