It actually came with a pair of Hogue wraparounds, and a factory box. Sadly, no factory grips. I like the contour of the Hogue grips already, but the finger grooves are in the wrong place. I might try shaving them down, or looking at other options, but I want to shoot it as-is first.

Well said. My favorite range gun is a P322. Cheap to shoot and accurate as I can shoot it

I finally bought the Stoeger STR-9 last night. It was $199 plus $35 to ship. My FFL charges $25. There is also a $50 rebate on it. $210 out the door. I can’t wait to get it and put a few thousand rounds through it. For that price it is hard to not take a stab at it. I will give a review once I receive it.

Cool. Keep us informed. You're likely going to really like it.

I’m not sure about buying too many more budget guns. Next up for me is the HK 45. I do have my sights on a Canik and a RIA 1911 though.

A lot of good advice here. One company I'd personally avoid is SCCY.

I have seen those guns in the shop, never actually picked one up. Do people pronounce it as "sky" or do you spell out the letters like S&W?

In my book there is cheap and there is budget. I don’t equate the two as equals. Ruger or Stoeger or Canik are quality pistols but not necessarily cheap ones. When I think cheap, I think of HiPoint, Kel-Tec, Bulldog Arms and Charter Arms

To the best of my knowledge, it is pronounced "sky." It used to be Skyy, but that came into conflict with a brand of vodka.

A buddy had one of those. It wouldn't get through two rounds without a malfunction. Properly lubed and maintained, too. I'd rather have a Hi-Point.

People dog on Hi Points, with good reason. Ugly, low mag capacity, heavy, did I mention ugly? But a friend owned a few, and they never malfunctioned.

I readily admit I have never shot one but I have taken plenty off of people in the past. They feel and look terrible but I have heard they do what they are supposed to do. I am just not willing to go the cheap route. I equate cheap guns to Harbor Freight tools. I typically only buy Bosch but if it’s a one time use or very infrequently used tool, I will go to Harbor Freight. Most of the time they work and get the job done.

PSA has the Beretta APX-A1 on sale for $249.99

That’s a great deal. I bought the Stoeger for $199 and then have the $50 rebate though.
My next gun will be the HK45, as I’m not going to make a habit of buying budget guns.
