Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure how much interest is out there pertaining to pistols with red dots, but it seems to be the new handgun craze. I was at the range over the weekend and someone in the lane next to me was shooting some pretty tight groups with there rmr glock, so I called up Sig today to inquire. They advised that there will likely be an optic ready kit for sale sometime by the end of the year! They advised that they are not sure if it will be just a slide and red dot, or if the kit will also include a barrel and be like their existing caliber x-change kits. I'm hoping that they will exclude components that can be purchased separately such as barrel, guide rod, recoil spring, and magazine to keep costs down and also because if you are making this purchase, the consumer probably already owns these components.

Any thoughts?

Count me as one not into this new "craze".
And, whatever SIG told you verbally regarding a maybe product, don't hold your breath, when they have so much on their plate, already.

They are already SKU'd up in SIGs system.

Or you could just have someone mill your 226 slide and take advantage of other (better) optic choices.

so far all we have seen from SIG is that.
But PMM and LM can easily do your 226 slide so waiting for SIG is not needed.
